RHP Connor Overton (back soreness)
Expected return: TBD
Overton was in line to start the series finale against the Blue Jays on May 22, but he was scratched one day prior due to a sore back. Overton, who debuted with Toronto last season, has a 1.82 ERA and zero home runs allowed through his first four starts. -- Jordan Horrobin
OF Nick Senzel
Expected return: Late May
Senzel, who was placed on the COVID IL on May 4, began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on May 18.
“I do know it’d be through the weekend,” manager David Bell said. “Hopefully he’s ready to go when we get back home [on May 23].” -- Mark Sheldon (Last updated: May 18)
LHP Mike Minor (left shoulder soreness)
Expected return: Late May or early June
The Reds received a positive report on Minor's most recent rehab start, which came on May 20 with Triple-A Louisville. Minor threw 79 pitches over 4 2/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on nine hits. The 34-year-old could join the Major League rotation as early as next week.
"For me, if they're healthy and they're built up, I don't pay any attention to the results," manager David Bell said. -- Jordan Horrobin (Last updated: May 21)
SS Jose Barrero (left wrist surgery)
Expected return: Early June
Barrero began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on May 20. Although he does not have a set spot on the big league roster, the stint in Louisville will be more about getting ready rather than proving himself on the field. -- Jordan Horrobin (Last updated: May 21)
IF/OF Max Schrock (left calf strain)
Expected return: June
Schrock will begin a rehab assignment in late May, manager David Bell said on May 21, with the expectation that he'll be on a three-week timeline to return. Schrock is eligible to be activated on June 6.
Across 11 Spring Training appearances, Schrock slashed .609/.630/.826 before he was injured during an April 3 game vs. Arizona. -- Jordan Horrobin (Last updated: May 21)
INF Donovan Solano (left hamstring)
Expected return: TBD
Solano underwent a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in late April, but the shot did not alleviate the soreness, manager David Bell said. More recently, Solano was running at 70-80 percent. -- Jordan Horrobin (Last updated: May 21)
RHP Lucas Sims (lower back spasms)
Expected return: TBD
Sims still doesn’t have a timetable for when he might return, but it will likely be beyond his eligible activation date of May 26.
Sims was delayed at camp by offseason back issues and was forced to begin the season on the IL. Those issues returned after back-to-back scoreless appearances and he went back on the IL on May 12. -- Mark Sheldon (Last updated: May 18)
LHP Nick Lodolo (lower right back strain)
Expected return: TBD
Lodolo, who was traveling with the club, returned to Cincinnati to see the doctor on May 16 and was told to stop throwing.
David Bell said they’re going to give him one solid week off and go forward.”
OF Jake Fraley (right knee inflammation)
Expected return: TBD
Fraley took batting practice on May 17 and he did some work in the field with outfield coach Jeff Pickler. He could be sent out on a Minor League rehab assignment soon. -- Mark Sheldon (Last updated: May 17)
RHP Justin Dunn (shoulder)
Expected return: TBD
Dunn, who was acquired from the Mariners in a March trade, joined the club on its road series in Cleveland to do workouts and continue his throwing program. Manager David Bell believed that Dunn could be ready to join the team as a starter around the All-Star break.
LHP Justin Wilson (left elbow soreness)
Expected return: June?
Wilson has been doing his rehab work but is not close to returning to the active roster.
“Getting better but not to the point of being able to throw,” Reds manager David Bell said. Mark Sheldon (Last updated: May 8)
2B Jonathan India (right hamstring)
Expected return: TBD
India has been progressing with his baseball activities, but there is not yet a target date for when he might begin a rehab assignment in the Minors.
“He’s doing great,” Reds manager David Bell said.
The Reds are likely to be extra deliberate with India since he’s on his second IL stint with a hamstring injury. He went back to the IL after his right hamstring tightened on him during an April 29 game vs. the Rockies. -- Mark Sheldon (Last updated: May 14)
