    Re: Nick Lodolo

    Lodolo looked good on the mound but he needs to try growing some facial hair, his baby face is not intimidating
    “I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    A week ago there were posts making fun of some preferring Lodolo to Greene in days past.

    Yet here we are.

    Yes he was really hitting the top end of the strike zone regularly. Promising start and hopefully he can build on it.

    Today is the first time Reds fans got to see what Lodolo can be. Every game won't go this smoothly, but he's got a chance to be nasty out there on the mound.

    I'll take both.

    I’ve long been on the Lodolo wagon, I think he’s got a lot of Chris Sale vibes to him. But Greene has been impressive too.

    I love Greene too but I foresee choppy waters ahead with his arm and that velo.

    DeGrom is probably the pitcher closest to him so far as velo goes and you see how that’s going. (DeGrom is up several mph from his first few outstanding years)

    Interesting, because Chris Sale is also who I was thinking last night while watching Lodolo.

    Correction (online box score was incorrect):

    Nick Lodolo made his first rehab start in the Arizona Complex League Last Night:
    2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K.

    It was his first time pitching in a game since April 24.

    Nick Lodolo’s pitching line in likely his final Triple-A rehab start: 4 2/3 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K.

    Two of the hits were infield singles and the run scored after he was pulled in the 5th inning. Lodolo threw 78 pitches, 47 strikes

    Nick Lodolo is expected to return to the Reds rotation early next week.

    He’s one of the the core pieces they’re building around, and Lodolo will be one of the Reds most important players to track for the rest of the year.

    @Reds

    Reds LHP Nick Lodolo is scheduled to come off the injured list and start Tuesday night against the Mets.

    Tim Britton
    @TimBritton

    Max Scherzer is in line to start Tuesday in Cincinnati. He’s hoping he can go about 90 pitches over six innings.

    Nick Lodolo pitched well in his start against Max Sherzer. 4 2/3 innings 0 runs 8 K. Threw 89 pitches as the umpire missed a few calls. All in all an excellent start like his previous start in April was. He is the most complete pitcher in the Greene, Lodolo, Ashcroft group.

    It'd be great to see Lodolo stay healthy the rest of the season and stay productive, obviously. He's had a lot of Senzellian injuries over the years and it'd be nice for him to break that habit.
