What did they do to make the broadcast bad?

Well I realized eventually that I had turned on the alternate broadcast, which was a picture-in-picture in-studio commentary from Michael Kay and A-Rod where it was mostly A-Rod talking about his playing days and how he doesn't like new things like PitchCom. At one point he showed a bunch of hand-drawn charts (while pointing out that he loves making charts) showing how a player's value goes down once he starts making more money. It was asinine.

After just one weekend of play there is only undefeated team and one winless team. That is the result of the Rays sweeping a three game series against the Orioles. Everyone else has at least one loss or has has one win. For one weekend there is parity in baseball.

Maybe the billions they get makes some other owners want to cash in.

Oh wait...I forgot...owning a baseball team is a money loser.

Braves SP Huascar Ynoa still tipping his pitches (from behind) as he was last year. Delivery is more upright for a breaking ball. Drops down lower and and leans shoulders back a bit before coming over with his fastball. Fastball delivery also means he’s either up in the zone or above the zone. Don’t have to worry about a low strike on a fastball.

Alex Bohm hates it in Philly, he’s welcome to come to Cincinnati.

Lorenzen looking good in the early going tonight. I can’t stick with the game, but glad to see him doing well in the early going, three very good innings.

    2022 MLB In Season Discussion

Good news: Toronto is averaging 5 runs a game.

Bad news: They're giving up an average of 7 a game

Great start for him. Hope he does well, I think he was written off as a starter too soon but Covid and injuries didn’t help the cause late in his reds career.

It would hurt to see him quickly have good success as a starter on a new team. One thing I was thinking just this week is it’s not like the Reds dump any of their subpar pitchers and they quickly find a new gear somewhere else. We need better talent, but we do at least seem to get the most out of our guys.

    Rhett Bollinger @RhettBollinger

Michael Lorenzen is the first #Angels pitcher to get through six innings this year. It's his longest start since July 9, 2015 with the Reds. Threw 89 pitches. Allowing two hits and one run on a homer. Seven strikeouts.
