Imagine Jimmy Page lamenting how he really didn’t want to leave the Yardbirds and try his luck with Led Zeppelin.

    Yeah, let’s watch his words.

In a statement to SI he said “there is no truth whatsoever to what Gottlieb tweeted.” Perhaps a touch more agressive denial - but why not say what actually happened?

I don't see feeling sorry for Freddy Freeman after he sold his soul to the Evil Empire-West for $163,000,000.00. These guys live in a completely different universe than us normies.

I mean, for the rank and file, you'll get blacklisted and have a hard time finding good representation if you do this.... but the rank and file negotiate a half dozen or more contracts over a career. A superstar player may negotiate 2 (and only 1 of those will be his Peak Value contract), possibly 3 if there are opt-outs involved. Who needs a reputation as a "good client" for a service you only use twice a career, and the rest can be handled by your lawyer/business manager?
I would think (and I don't know for sure) that his former agent still gets the commission. His new agent hasn't done squat.

Jeez, that could have turned out a whole lot worse.

Mark Appel pitched a scoreless 9th in his MLB debut last night. He recently made a comeback in 2021 after retiring in 2017. He is a FT reliever now.
Arise and walk, come through. A world beyond that door is calling out for you. Arise and walk, come through. It's calling out for you.

Surely that one appearance bumps him from the top spot of worst #1 overall pick of all time. Pretty cool.

Padres playing the Dodgers for four games

    I’m all in on this

You need real games to make the season matter when your team sucks the life out of most days

Taylor wasn't a bad pick per se, he was bad pick like Len Bias because he never got to prove he was great pick

Steve Chilcott was worse and picked right before Reggie Jackson

My favorite line from Taylor’s Wikipedia page, about his ill-fated fight.

“In the hours following the altercation, Boras told reporters the injury was just a bruise.”

Oakland A’s starter Frankie Montas has been pulled after one inning. Montas, whose velocity usually sits 96-97 mph, was 93-94 mph and topped out at 94.5 mph.
I think the price for Castillo just went through the roof.
