The Reds scored 6 runs in 3 of the 4 games. They seem to have some ability to score without relying on the long ball. If Senzel can stay healthy and we keep Diaz, Moreta, and Duarte as our middle relief they can probably surprise us all.

Well it was an encouraging weekend. A split with the World Champions on their home field is good. There was timely hitting and the pitching was very good overall. Relief pitching looks miles better than last year. Greene looked good yesterday. Not dominant but very encouraging. I believe he just needs to mix in a change and slider a little more. Braves starting catching up to his fast ball at the end. At least the HR;s he gave up were solo homers. We can live that,

full article by Doug Gray at redlegnation.comWhile the fastball was impressive, the slider and change up both looked good, too. Greene got five swinging strikes on his slider in the game – one less than he got with his fastball.
He added another swinging strike on the change up,
For a pitch that he didn’t use much in the minor leagues, the work this offseason with the pitch seemed to pay off as he threw 13 of them and seemed to be comfortable with it – though he only threw it to left-handed hitters in this game.
For the most part, Greene was able to locate his fastball and when he did, there wasn’t much that the Atlanta hitters could do with it. The slider found the strikezone often, and when it didn’t there were still guys chasing it – we’re looking at you, Adam Duvall. Not that Greene has a history of struggling to throw strikes in his minor league history, but in a big league debut against a good offense? Yeah, that was impressive.
Reds deep dive: Hunter Greene’s debut impresses in many ways
