There goes the shut-out. 'Tugas still lead 9-2 in the bottom of the 8th, but Jayvian Sandridge let two inherited runners (from Arij Fransen) score.

That mars Julian Aguiar's 5 innings of perfection a bit, but the win is the important thing here.

Jay Allen ended up walking again. That's three walks on the day. Yerlin Confidan also had a second hit. He's 2-3 on the day.

Onto the bottom of the 9th, 'Tugas up 9-2.

    Well, that's more like it...

Despite the struggles of Louisville, Cincinnati minor league teams go 3-2 on the day.

Louisville is currently 1-5, in last place in the AAA International League West.

Chattanooga is 1-2 in third place in the four-team AA Southern League North.

Dayton is in a three-team scrum for first place in the High A Midwest League East at 2-1.

With its first win of the season, Daytona has now tied Palm Beach for third in the four-team Florida State League East. They're 1-2.

The 4/10 Mace Memorial Player of the Day Award goes to Julian Aguiar for his five innings of perfect baseball. Aguiar gets the third no-prize of the season. Jay Allen and Yerlin Confidan received some consideration for their outstanding performances today. Allen is hitting .500 on the season, fwiw. Pretty sure that'll play in any league. Andrew Abbott (1 ER in 4 IP) and Stevie Branche (2 IP, 4 K) were honorable mentions, as were Matt McLain and Michael Siani.

The answer to the trivia question, btw, is Danny Tartabull. Tartebull was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1980 June Draft and earned just over 23 bWAR on his career, primarily as a Yankee and Royal. He retired with a 133 OPS+ and a one-time All-Star. That was 10 more bWAR than the next-highest 3rd round Red draftee, Aaron Boone.

    The top five:
    1. Danny Tartabull
    2. Aaron Boone
    3. Reggie Jefferson (4.5 bWAR)
    4. Rawly Eastwick (4.4 bWAR)
    5. Paul Moskau (2.9 bWAR)

I watched half of the Chattanooga game wanted to see Williamson. He was wild all over the plate. He was drilled 3 or 4 times. I was impressed with Siani and Alex McGarry both were fast and covered a lot of ground in the OF. McLain's double was a frozen rope the LF tried to make a diving catch on.
