They are in line behind Aquino and maybe Moran.

I'd put Moose on the IL and give him a month to get in shape. He was a solid defender at 3B not that long ago and a decent hitter in his career. I think he's just out of shape. He had foot problems which makes it difficult to work out or run, so I see how he got that way. The short spring training didn't do him any favor either. They signed Moran, I'd stick him at 3B let Moose get in shape for a month or so followed by a rehab for a couple weeks to get his timing and see what happens. They can always cut him later if he still looks like mediocre a softball player out there.

The reds are short on RH bats and Aquino is clearly the first one that should go IMO. I'd cut him when Solano returns and use Drury in the OF when they need a RH hitter out there.

With Pham, I think the biggest issue is that he arrived so late in an already short spring training.

Moustakas gives me a headache.

I've wondered if all this showing of Aquino, plus the ST hype about him, has been a way of trying to generate some interest in him. If so, it's certainly failed. Time to let him go unless we have another right handed bat injured before Solano comes back. Going to take a couple weeks before you know what you've got in Pham. Moustakas should go on 60 day IL as soon as Solano is available to take over at 3rd. Play Solano, DH Moran.

For a minute there last night, I thought Bally Sports was just showing the same footage over and over again every time there was a grounder down the 3rd base line.

I'd say Moose should just DH, but he can't hit anymore either.

Maybe he can be the new mascot?


And Pham... still doesn't have a hit. I'm not a big Pham so far, I have to admit.

Against RHP, I'd DH Fraley or Naquin with the other in the OF. I wouldn't play Solano against RHP. Moran and Solano platoon at 3B until Barrero returns and Farmer could slide over. I agree about the DL stint for Moose. Stephenson would be the DH against LHP.

Pham has 4 of the Reds 6 walks this year, and is having good ab's. He hasn't made solid contact yet, but that will come. Moose on the other hand looks washed. He's a negative at the plate, in the field, and on the base paths. I honestly don't know how much longer they can keep running him out there playing like this.

moose is by far the worst FA signing in reds' history. 4 years, $64M for this guy. makes eric milton look like a bargain in comparison. shogo too. reds are still on the hook for $18M next year. ugh.

i'd give pham some time. i bet he will mash in GABP.
