Pham has 4 of the Reds 6 walks this year, and is having good ab's. He hasn't made solid contact yet, but that will come. Moose on the other hand looks washed. He's a negative at the plate, in the field, and on the base paths. I honestly don't know how much longer they can keep running him out there playing like this.

I'm a fan of Pham seeing a lot of pitches when Votto is on deck, both he and Votto saw 20 pitches last night. Grinding it will only help the Reds in the other 159 games they haven't play yet

In my case, not at all. No one's more aware than I of how hard the game is, and I've defended Aquino for years. It's not the numbers per se but the quality of the AB's. Aquino's no closer than ever to hitting anything that breaks. What's most irritating about Moustakas is that the money going to him could have kept both Winker and Gray here nicely. Of course we can say Bob C. should just have taken the loss because he's a rich guy yadda yadda. But he ate a lot of high paid below replacement performance last year: Moustakas, Suarez, Shogo. I was hoping he'd do it again this year but you can hardly expect him to. So, in short, no one's persuading me Jesse Winker would be gone if somebody hadn't made the Moustakas deal. (I say "somebody" because I can't remember the front office timing exactly) The Pham signing I think will be just fine. He's had some quality AB's even if he's still hitless. No worry there.

I’d like to see the Reds be patient and avoid drawing conclusions from three games. They saw all these guys in ST, they made their decisions. Don’t reverse course because of three games.

Tommy Pham does not have a hit yet, but has still reached safely in each of his first 3 games as a Red. That's the longest streak for reaching safely without a hit start a Reds career since at least 1901.

I wouldn’t count on it, since nobody in the history of MLB has gone hitless in their first three games and been able to come back from that and amount to anything.

Moustakas is another example of our front office misjudging talent. You don't give big bucks to over 30 guys with his skillset. Aside from the fact that these kinds of guys are injury prone, his sort of game does not age well. He was never going to be worth the second highest contract in team history. Tommy Pham is comparatively peanuts. I have no problem with that signing

For this season, 3B looks to be a mess. Eventually I’d like to see Barrero at SS with Schrock/Farmer in a platoon.
