    Roki Sasaki - Japanese phenom

That is impressive no matter what league you are in.

19 Ks and 0 BB. His Bill James Game Score would be 106. The current major league record is 1052 held by Kerry Wood when he struck out 20 Astros. This must have occurred pre-garbage can.

Wood could have announce what he was throwing on a billboard that day and he'd have still mowed through the Astros. He was just absolutely filthy nasty that day.

Wood pitched the most dominate game ever that day. 20 k's and what should've/could've been a perfect game. I'll never forget watching it. His ball was curving like whiffle balls.

That Astros team won 102 games and led the NL in runs scored.

Shuhei Fukuda hit Sasaki's first pitch, which ended a streak of 52 batters retired. Sasaki retired 27 in the perfect game, 24 in the eight-inning outing and the last batter he faced prior to the perfect game.
