2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

How about we keep the minor league honors going this year with a weekly award (the daily posts got too be a bit much for me last season, not sure how mace did it!)? With BZ posting some great game threads, this can be a place to highlight the best weekly performers and discuss other farmhand news and notes. I plan to make the weekly post each Sunday night. Personally, I see this as a way for me to keep tabs on the minor leagues, and all the better if others enjoy it. Without further ado...

    Games from April 4-April 10

Hitter of the Week - Mike Siani, Lookouts: 3-8, HR, RBI, R, 5 BB, K. (375/.615/.875 overall) After scuffling at the plate his first couple pro seasons, the lefty has followed up a productive fall season with a fine first weekend. Let's see if the plate discipline can continue, because at age 22 it's about time for the plus-defender to start showing some offensive consistency.

Pitcher of the Week - Julian Aguiar, Tortugas: 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. . Last year's 12th-round pick out of a California JUCO pitched admirably in limited innings last year and was stellar in his first action of 2022.

    Other Notables

Louisville Bats (1-5, 10th out of 10 in International League West)

    Lorenzo Cedrola: 8-25, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 8 R, 0 BB, 7 K (.320/.346/.480 overall)

    TJ Friedl: 5-19, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, 4 BB, 4 K (.263/.417/.474 overall)

    Randy Wynne: 5 IP, 5 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 0 K

    Joel Kuhnel: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K

Chattanooga Lookouts (1-2, 3rd out of 4 in Southern League North)

    Sam McWilliams: 4 IP, 5 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 6 K

    Andy Fisher: 3 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

    Stevie Branche: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K

Dayton Dragons (2-1, T-1st out of 6 in Midwest League East)

    Rece Hinds: 4-9, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, R, 0 BB, 3 K (.444/.444/.889 overall)

    Connor Phillips: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K

    Andrew Abbott: 4 IP, 5 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 4 K

    Jake Gilbert: 2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 4 K

    Evan Kravetz: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K

Daytona Tortugas (1-2, T-3rd out of 4 in Florida State League East)

    Jay Allen: 5-10, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB, K, 2 SB (.500/.643/.600 overall)

    Hayden Jones: 4-8, 2B, RBI, R, 0 BB, 3 K (.500/.500/.625 overall)

    Yerlin Confidan: 4-10, 2B, RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 3 K (.400/.538/.500 overall)

    Chase Petty: 4 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 3K

This is my favorite thing about Redszone, but sadly it doesn’t seem to be getting much traction this season

If it's that you enjoy the discussion, that's a good point. Feel free to start the thread.

If it's that you miss talking about who's hitting or pitching well and would love to know who's been given the award, there is a report done each day by some a**hole who spends an inordinant part of his day wasting time whilst researching minor league websites for Cincinnati Red news.

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from April 12-April 17

Hitter of the Week: Matt McLain: 9-20, 3 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R, 2 BB, 2 K, SB. (.344/.400/.876 overall). You likely heard about McLain hitting for the cycle on Sunday, which was the cap on a week where he stuffed the box scores. We'll see how quickly the Reds plan to move the 2021 first round pick out of UCLA.

Pitcher of the Week: Julian Aguiar: 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K (0.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP overall). Second week in a row the 20-year-old right-hander gets this nod. On the season, he's pitched nine innings, only surrendered three hits, while striking out 14 and walking nary a batter.

    Other notables:

Louisville Bats (2-4 this week | 3-9 overall | 10th of 10 in International League West)

    Ronnie Dawson: 6-22, 2 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 5 K (.250/.340/.523 overall)

    Lorenzo Cedrola: 6-22, 4 2B, 2 RBI, R, BB, 3 K (.298/.327/.468 overall)

    Christin Santana: 7-22, 2B, 2 RBI, R, BB, 4 K (.318/.348/.364 overall)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from April 19-April 24

Hitter of the Week - TJ Hopkins: 11-25, 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 6 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 3 SB (.370/.474/.717 overall). The 2019 9th-rounder out of South Carolina seems to be finally healthy and off to the best start of his pro career. The outfielder needs just one more longball to match his career high, but still has some swing-and-miss in his game with 15 strikeouts in 46 ABs this year.

Pitcher of the Week - Joe Boyle: 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 10 K (0.00 ERA, 0.63 WHIP overall). Make that eight no-hit innings to start the year for the former Notre Dame product. Standing at 6'7, the big righty has punched out a whopping 17 batters this year after striking out more than two per inning in eight starts in his debut season a year ago.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (3-3 this week | 6-12 overall | T-10th of 10 in IL West)

    Albert Almora: 9-21, 4 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB, 2 K (.378/.395/.486 overall)

    Ronnie Dawson: 8-22, 2B, RBI, 4 R, 4 BB, 5 K, SB (.288/.382/.485 overall)

    Phillip Diehl: 2.2 IP, H, R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K (4.50 ERA, 0.75 WHIP overall)

    Connor Overton: 7 IP, 5 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 9 K (2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP overall)

    Stevie Branche: 3 IP, H, R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K (1.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP overall)

    Ryan Nutof: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K (0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP overall)

    Jared Solomon: 3 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K (0.00 ERA, 0.43 WHIP overall)

    Sam McWilliams: 5 IP, 2 H, 3 R, ER, BB, 3 K (2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP overall)

Dayton Dragons (5-1 this week | 11-4 overall | 1st of 6 in MWL East)

    Jose Torres: 8-15, 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 8 R, BB, 2 K, 2 SB (.308/.357/.641 overall)

    Alex McGarry: 7-19, 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 R, BB, 6 K (.290/.361/.871 overall)

    Elly De La Cruz: 7-20, 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, BB, 6 K (.289/.333/.600 overall)

    Manuel Cachutt: 3 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 2 K (0.00 ERA, 0.86 WHIP overall)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games of April 26-May 1

Hitter of the Week - Isiah Gilliam, Chattanooga: 9-22, 3 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 4 K, SB (.303/.365/.636 overall). A 20th round pick by the Yankees in 2015 is impressing in his first year in the Reds organization. Still only 25 years old, the switch-hitting outfielder hasn't hit for much average in his minor league career (.255 BA) but has flashed a little power (72 HRs).

Co-Pitchers of the Week - Connor Phillips, Dayton: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K (3.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP overall); Andrew Abbott, Dayton: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 10 K (0.86 ERA, 0.95 WHIP overall). The two Dragon hurlers had nearly identical lines, leading a dominating performance for Dayton pitchers last week. Abbott has been fantastic in the early going, striking out 35 in his first 21 innings. Phillips, who came over in the Suarez/Winker dump, has fanned 31 in his 20 innings.

    Others of Note:

Louisville Bats (2-4 last week | 8-16 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Lorenzo Cedrola: 9-23, 2B, RBI, 5 R, BB, 2 K, 2 SB (.313/.347/.406 overall)

    Albert Almora: 8-23, 4 RBI, 5 R (.361/.371/.427 overall)

    Jared Solomon: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K (0.00 ERA, 0.44 WHIP overall)

    Randy Wynne: 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K (3.76 ERA, 1.29 WHIP overall)

Chattanooga Lookouts (4-2 last week | 13-8 overall | 1st of 4 in SL North)

    Matt McLain: 5-19, 2 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 6 R, 3 BB, 6 K, 2 SB (.286/.378/.671 overall)

    Quin Cotton: 5-12, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 SB (.313/.450/.438 overall)

    Chuckie Robinson: 5-15, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, R, BB, K, 2 SB (.353/.389/.500 overall)

    Michael Byrne: 3.2 IP, H, 0 R, BB, 7 K (2.16 ERA, 1.44 WHIP overall)

    Pedro Garcia: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K (2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP overall)

Dayton Dragons (5-1 last week | 16-5 overall | 1st of 6 in MWL East)

    Nick Quintana: 4-16, 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 3 BB, 4 K (.218/.317/.455 overall)

    Joe Boyle: 5 IP, H, 0 R, 5 BB, 5 K (0.00 ERA, 0.85 WHIP overall)

Daytona Tortugas (1-5 last week | 9-12 overall | 3rd of 4 in FSL East)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from May 3-May 8

Hitter of the Week - Cristian Santana, Louisville: 10-19, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, BB, 2 K (.325/.379/.450 overall). The 25-year-old corner IF has also posted decent minor league numbers but was never able to crack through with the Dodgers (.291/.319/.439 in eight seasons). In his first month in the Reds organization, he's leading the Bats in OPS.

Pitcher of the Week - Andrew Abbott: Dayton: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. Second straight week the Reds second-round 2021 draft pick out of Virginia has been mentioned at the top of this space. The smallish lefty has been dominant this season, striking out 40 and only walking seven in 27.0 innings pitched.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (4-1 this week | 12-17 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Michael DeLeon: 5-12, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K (.214/.304/.286 overall)

    Graham Ashcraft: 5 IP, 3 H, R, 0 ER, 5 BB, 3 K (1.63 ERA, 1.63 WHIP overall)

    Ross Detwiler: 3.2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K (4.26 ERA, 1.58 WHIP overall)

    Arij Fransen: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 10 K (4.74 ERA, 1.42 WHIP overall)

Some overall thoughts: Through the first month of the season, the Reds farm teams own the 11th best winning percentage across all of MiLB. A little surprising given there hasn't been a lot of individual performances to be doing cartwheels about yet outside of a handful of pitchers in the low minors. It'd be nice to see some consistency in the top two levels to force the Reds to give some guys a long look in this lost MLB season. As of now, Cedrola, McLain, and Ashcraft are the only ones really pretending to knock at the door.

Dayton sports that gaudy record but their run differential is only +17 so I expect the Dragons to come back down to earth a bit in the coming weeks.

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from May 10-May 15

Hitter of the Week - Alex McGarry, Dayton: 11-25, 3 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 10 K (.323/.365/.802 overall). What to make of the 2020 undrafted FA out of Oregon State? He hasn't made a lot of contact, but when he has he's mashed the ball this season. McGarry leads the Midwest League in OPS, HRs, and RBI, but is also seventh in strikeouts (unfortunately two of his Dragon teammates have more). The lefty has whiffed in 42 of his 96 ABs this year to go along with only six free passes.

Pitcher of the Week - Andrew Abbott, Chattanooga: 5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 12 K (0.55 ERA, .796 WHIP overall). Not much more we can say about this kid's first two months of 2022. His first start as a Lookout might have been his best one yet. Can't wait for his next turn.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (1-5 this week | 13-22 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Aristides Aquino: 6-21, 2 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB, 8 K, SB (.292/.414/.750 overall)

    Cristian Santana: 7-20, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K (.330/.385/.430 overall)

    Juniel Querecuto: 6-20, 2 2B, 3 R, 3 BB, K, SB (.300/.391/.400 overall)

    Kyle Dowdy: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

    Mike Minor: 5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, ER, BB, 8 K

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from May 17-May 22

Hitter of the Week - Allan Cerda, Dayton: 7-18, 2 2Bs, 3 HRs, 5 RBIs, 4 R, 2 BB, 6 K, SB (.231/.389/.490 overall). The 22-year-old Bronx native had a big week in the power department, an area where he has never lacked. Cerda has blasted 38 home runs and 44 doubles in 867 plate appearances since becoming a pro in 2018. He'll need to start showing more contact and plate discipline soon to continue to justify his spot on the 40-man.

Pitcher of the Week - Connor Phillips, Dayton: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, ER, 0 BB, 13 K (3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP overall). That's 60 strikeouts in 36 innings this year for the PTBNL. I gotta imagine the Houston native is destined to join former teammate Andrew Abbott in the Lookout rotation in the near future.

    Randy Wynne: 6 IP, 5 H, R, ER, BB, 4 K (4.29 ERA, 1.43 WHIP overall)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games of May 24-29

Hitter of the Week - Robbie Tenerowicz, Chattanooga: 9-18, 2 2Bs, 2 HRs, 5 RBI, 5 R, 4 BB, 3 K (.296/.434./.489 overall). In his second year in the Reds organization and second season on the Lookouts, the Bird continues to put up solid numbers at the plate. He's just a fringe guy at 27 years old, but he probably deserves a shot at AAA at some point this year.

Pitcher of the Week - Bryce Bonnin, Dayton: 5.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K (3.15 ERA, 1.00 WHIP overall). Dominating pitching performances are contagious right now for the Dragons. After a handful of shaky outings to start the year, the 2020 3rd-rounder out of Texas Tech retired all 16 batters he faced last week.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (3-3 this week | 17-31 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Jose Barrero: 4-21, 2B, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB, 8 K (.233/.303/.500 overall)

    Taylor Motter: 5-15, 3 RBI, 4 BB, 4 K (.265/.370/.515 overall)

    Cristian Santana: 6-22, 2 2Bs, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K (.333/.385/.438 overall)

    Kyle Dowdy: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (3.12 ERA, 0.98 WHIP overall)

    Dauri Moreta: 2.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 4 K (1.35 ERA, 1.65 WHIP in AAA overall)

    Reiver Sanmartin: 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K (8.31 ERA, 1.77 WHIP overall)

Dayton Dragons (4-2 this week | 30-14 overall | 1st of 6 in MWL East)

    Rece Hinds: 9-18, 2B, 3B, HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 5 BB, 5 K, SB (.279/.371/.500 overall)

    Elly De La Cruz: 9-26, 2 2Bs, 3B, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, 6 R, BB, 8 K, SB (.282/.331/.544 overall)

    Matheu Nelson: 7-17, 2 2Bs, 3 RBI, 4 R, BB, 7 K (.240/.321/.400 overall)

    Evan Kravetz: 3 IP, H, R, ER, 0 BB, 5 K (4.98 ERA, 1.43 WHIP overall)

Daytona Tortugas (3-3 this week | 19-26 overall | 3rd of 4 in FSL East)

    Blake Dunn: 8-19, 2 2Bs, 3B, HR, 5 RBI, 8 R, 4 BB, 6 K, 8 SB (!) (.289/.429/.533 overall)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from May 31 - June 5

Hitter of the Week - Elly De La Cruz, Dayton Dragons: 8-22, 2B, 3B, 2 HRs, 6 RBI, 4 R, 0 BB, 7 K, SB (.292/.335/.573 overall). After a bit of a pedestrian start at least for a hyped prospect, De La Cruz has been strong of late leading the best team in the minor leagues. The lanky switch-hitter now has 10 bombs on the year and 32 RBI, good for fourth and fifth in the Midwest League respectively.

Pitcher of the Week - Ben Lively, Louisville Bats: 10.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 14 K (3.98 ERA, 1.31 WHIP overall). The 2013 fourth round pick of the Reds has together a decent couple months at AAA. The 30-year-old is probably a candidate to get some starts for the Reds down the stretch pending trades and some of the young prospects hitting their innings limit.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (3-3 this week | 20-33 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Chris Okey: 5-6, 2B, 3B, HR, 5 RBI, 2 R (.254/.319/.444 overall)

    Juniel Querecuto: 7-19, 4 2Bs, HR, 3 RBI, 6 R, BB, 2 K, SB (.286/.329/.468 overall)

    Lorenzo Cedrola: 8-24, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, 2 R, K, SB (.274/.301/.381 overall)

    Cristian Santana: 7-22, 3 2Bs, 10 K (.333/.379/.444 overall)

    Fernando Cruz: 2.2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 4 K (3.60 ERA, 0.95 WHIP overall)

    Buck Farmer: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K (4.09 ERA, 1.45 WHIP overall)

Chattanooga Lookouts (3-3 this week | 27-24 overall | 3rd of 4 in SL North)

    Jacob Hurtubise: 5-11, RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 4 SB (.314/.435/.353 overall)

    Mike Siani: 6-18, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 5 BB, K, 2 SB (.264/.354/.416 overall)

    Francisco Urbaez: 6-20, 3 2Bs, HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, K (.277/.344/.411 overall)

    Connor Curlis: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 9 K (5.73 ERA, 1.42 WHIP overall)

    Andy Fisher: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 7 K (3.15 ERA, 1.20 WHIP overall)

    Andrew Abbott: 6.1 IP, 3 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 9 K (1.69 ERA, 0.95 WHIP overall)

    Brandon Williamson: 6 IP, H, R, ER, 3 BB, 7 K (3.68 ERA, 1.36 WHIP overall)

Dayton Dragons (5-1 this week | 35-15 overall | 1st of 6 in MWL East)

    Garrett Wolforth: 5-12, 2B, 3B, HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, 3 K (.226/.333/.464 overall)

    - - - Updated - - -

    Games from May 31 - June 5

Hitter of the Week - Elly De La Cruz, Dayton Dragons: 8-22, 2B, 3B, 2 HRs, 6 RBI, 4 R, 0 BB, 7 K, SB (.292/.335/.573 overall). After a bit of a pedestrian start at least for a hyped prospect, De La Cruz has been strong of late leading the best team in the minor leagues. The lanky switch-hitter now has 10 bombs on the year and 32 RBI, good for fourth and fifth in the Midwest League respectively.

Pitcher of the Week - Ben Lively: 10.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 14 K (3.98 ERA, 1.31 WHIP overall). The 2013 fourth round pick of the Reds has together a decent couple months at AAA. The 30-year-old is probably a candidate to get some starts for the Reds down the stretch pending trades and some of the young prospects hitting their innings limit.

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games from June 7-June 12

Hitter of the Week - Ruben Ibarra, Daytona Tortugas: 12-20, 3 2Bs, 3 HRs, 10 RBI, 6 R, 0 BB, 5 K (.286/.378/.486 overall). "Big Rube" hasn't made many appearances on this page, but the 2021 4th-rounder out of San Jose State just put together the best week of any Reds minor leaguer at the plate. In fact, the 6'5, 290-pound righty is swinging a .391/.494/.725 bat since May 1. There's still a lot of swing and miss in his game, but Ibarra now has seven home runs and seven doubles on the year.

Pitcher of the Week - Carson Spiers, Chattanooga Lookouts: 5.2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K (4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP overall). The former Clemson Tiger doesn't seem to be flashy, but he's steadily worked his way through the system, pitching for both A clubs in his first season in 2021 and spending the first couple months of 2022 in the Lookout rotation. His control is solid, only walking 51 in 161 pro innings while striking out 181.

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games of June 14-June 19

Hitter of the Week: Elly de la Cruz, Dayton Dragons: 9-21, 2 2Bs, 2 HRs, 6 RBI, 6 R, 5 BB, 4 K, 3 SB (.304/.355/.594 overall). The Dragon lead in the Midwest League is slowly slipping away after two sub-par weeks, but not for lack of effort by de la Cruz. Take note of the K/BB ratio this week. It's not great on the season (72/16), but hopefully a sign of progress. The lanky shortstop leads Dayton in OPS (.949), HR (13), 3B (6), RBI (43) and SB (18). Have those bags packed soon, Elly.

Pitcher of the Week: Javier Rivera, Daytona Tortugas: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K (3.13 ERA, 0.93 WHIP overall). In a week that lacked notable performances on the mound, we'll go down to Low-A to find the 2021 20th-round pick out of Florida Atlantic. The right-hander is old for the level (22), but has a tidy K/BB ratio with 49 punchouts to only 8 walks in 46 IP this season.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (2-4 this week | 24-41 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)

    Donovan Solano: 7-17, 3 2Bs, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K (.345/.412/.586 overall)

    Jose Barrero: 5-19, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, 3 R, 0 BB, 8 K (.215/.284/.409 overall)

    Ronnie Dawson: 5-15, 2B, R, BB, 4 K (.264/.364/.404 overall)

    Eddy Demurias: 2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K (4.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP overall)

    Buck Farmer: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K (4.41 ERA, 1.29 WHIP overall)

    Ryan Hendrix: 3 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K (2.70 ERA, 1.38 WHIP overall)

    Matt Pidich: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, BB, 7 K (9.17 ERA, 1.58 WHIP overall)

Chattanooga Lookouts (2-4 this week | 32-21 overall | 3rd of 4 in SL North)

    Matt McLain: 5-18, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 4 BB, 8 K, SB (.238/.360/.471 overall)

    Alex McGarry: 6-21, 2 2Bs, HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 2 SB (.293/.342/.603 overall)

Re: 2022 mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Week Thread

    Games of June 21-June 26

Hitter of the Week: Stuart Fairchild, Louisville Bats: 6-18, 3B, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, 4 R, BB, 6 K, SB (.257/.297/.657 overall). The well-traveled former 2017 second-round pick of the Reds out of Wake Forest is off to a decent start in his second stint with the Cincinnati organization. He's still only 26 years old and just a year removed from a .296/.383/.562 season.

Pitcher of the Week: Joe Boyle, Dayton Dragons: 4 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K (0.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP overall). The walks seem to be there each start (37 in 50.1 IP this season), but the big righty out of Notre Dame continues to mow down Midwest League hitters. He's fanned 78 and only allowed 14 hits to keep that ERA miniscule.

    Others of note:

Louisville Bats (3-3 this week | 27-44 overall | 10th of 10 in IL West)
