I think I can safely say I had forgotten at least 6 of those guys had been with the Reds this year.
“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”

The Reds have placed Art Warren on the IL with a right flexor pronator strain. He has been a high leverage reliever and another big part of the bullpen the Reds will have to replace in the short-term.

Catcher Mark Koloszvary has been activated.

The Reds go with the extra position player for the day. It’ll likely go back to 13/13 tomorrow when Nick Lodolo gets activated.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The Reds need to ask themselves why so many of their main relievers get injured.

Santillan now on 60-day. I don’t have to list the others.

Not that Shrock is some hidden gem, but I expected a little more out of him than he delivered.

Someone has to go before first pitch for Naquin. Farmer IL? Garcia IL? Maybe they did bring Kolozsvary back. It would be insane to have 3 terrible hitting catchers on the active roster

I think we over estimated him. The offense is so bad and he had some good games last year. We were clinging to that. At least I was.

Schrock only had 25 PAs this time around. He’s a decent pinch hitter against RHP. But with an option remaining, he was the likely choice to go to AAA. He could come back if people are traded to open a spot.

Maybe they’ll IL Garcia who’s been banged up of late. It’ll be a catcher, undoubtedly.

He tore up spring training. But as we see that means nothing.

It most likely will be a pitcher that his dropped to make space for Naquin. Schrock was dropped to make room for Lodolo.

Well, it’s complicated. Yesterday the Reds IL’d Art Warren and brought up a catcher. That gave them 14 position guys and 12 pitchers.

Today they dropped Schrock and added Lodolo. That restored them to 13 and 13.

When Naquin is added he will likely swap roster spots with another position player, keeping it at 13 and 13. Catcher probably.

If Gibout is added to the roster today, then a pitcher will go down again keeping it at 13 and 13. Forty man roster lists Gibout as in the minors, but that could be just momentary.

    Tyler Naquin is officially back.

Mark Kolozsvary is optioned to Triple-A.

Aramis Garcia, who's dealing with elbow and finger injuries, avoids a trip to the IL.

We can't judge any hitter with just 25 scattered PAs, that's an awful small sample size without consistent ABs.

Schrok barely got AB but everyone expected him to just hit immediately after being out for almost 3 months. The guy can and will hit. He’s this generations Jim Dwyer. Terry Crowley. It just took time and some patience to see it. Crowley got traded and released 3-4 times before working his way back to Earl Weaver. Earl really got a lot miles out of his bench.

"Terry Crowley's lucky he's in ****ing baseball, for *****sakes! He was released by the Cincinnati Reds. He was released by the ****ing g**d*** Atlanta Braves. We saw that Terry Crowley could sit on his ****ing a** for eight innings and enjoy watching a baseball game just like any other fan, and has the ability to get up there and break one open in the ****ing ninth!" -- Earl Weaver
