Relief pitcher Jared Solomon, who was added to the 40-man in the 2020 offseason, was named the 27th man for today’s doubleheader.

He started this year in Double-A and has been called up to Triple-A.

In 10 2/3 minor league innings this year, Solomon hasn’t allowed a run. He has 11 strikeouts and just three walks. He missed the 2021 season due to Tommy John surgery.

If anyone can fix Aquino's swing they should be made manager of the Reds ASAP.

May 7: Reds announced that OF Aristides Aquino cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Louisville

Aquino was designated for assignment on April 30 after starting his season 2-for-41 (.049) with 23 strikeouts.

    @Reds
The #Reds today selected from Triple-A Louisville the contract of RHP Joel Kuhnel.

RHP Robert Dugger was designated for assignment
Is this the end of Robert Rugged?
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Kuhnel will probably be sent right back down tomorrow if Castillo is activated.

Dugger sported the stirrups last night.

They should have kept him and send Diehl down. He is horrible.

He looked sharp last night. He is still on the team.

They need to send Diehl down. He throws batting practice when he is brought in.

Might be Diehl tomorrow. Dugger went because of the number of pitches he threw yesterday.

Can't still be on the team unless they send someone else down. He was added as the 27th man for the DH.

Diehl is the only lefty in the bullpen. Not sure how long lefty Wilson will be out. My guess is Diehl will stay until Wilson returns.

Not liking the move with Dugger. I don't think he's a big loss or anything, but there are three elephants in the room that need to go down - Diehl, Greene and Vlad. Hopefully Castillo takes Greene's spot and Greene can go down and finish his preparation for being this team's long-term ace. Since Diehl is a lefty, I guess they are keeping him until Justin Wilson returns. Hope that is soon because i sure wouldn't wait. Today I would have kept Dugger and sent Vlad down.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Greene’s not going to the minors, at least not yet. I doubt Vlad is either. The fact that they felt the need to get Duggers reveals how shallow they are at starting pitching right now. Castillo will likely take Lodolo’s spot while he’s hurt and Duggers will go down.

    From Charlie Goldsmith:

David Bell said Joey Votto and Nick Senzel are still “some days” away, but they’re feeling better. Reliever Justin Wilson isn’t throwing and continues to rehab.

Solomon? No, he’s not still on the team.

He’s the 27th man. He was up for one day.

Kuhnel came in because he’s a “fresh” arm. He didn’t pitch yesterday. They’ll probably use him today and send him back.

Castillo, Greene and Vlad are scheduled to pitch the Brewers series. They flipped Greene and Vlad for whatever reason.

Dugger was DFA’d. Probably will clear waivers and go to Louisville.
