    4/28 Minor League Scores

Louisville battles Columbus. The series is tied at one game apiece. The Bats appear to be getting a bit better as the season wears on. Part of that is acquiring some solid AAAA depth guys. Taylor Motter is an example. Last season, he put up a .313/ .436/ .668/ 1.104 line in just more than 80 games. That'll play in any league. Tonight, Ben Lively faces the Clippers. Game starts at 6:35.

Chattanooga won last night, 6-2. Brandon Williamson should be the starter, though no one in certain of that fact until he actually shows up on the mound. Williamson pitched with Nick Lodolo at Texas A&M and became a close friend. It'd be pretty cool if they became major leaguers together. But it wouldn't be more amazing than having three guys from the same school pitching in the show. It's even more impressive if they came from the same high school at the same time. Jake Flaherty, Lucas Giolito, and Max Fried all attended Harvard-Westlake. What might be more ironic is that the team with all three of them pitching didn't make it out of the second round of the California baseball playoffs.

Dayton starts James Proctor tonight. Really like him as a Tejay Antone type who can shut doors while going multiple innings out of the pen. His peripherals last year and this look really good. You know what else looks really good? The Dragons' 13-4 record. 1st place and a dominating rotation is a great place to be.

Daytona was the only Red farm club to lose last night. They're now below .500 and have lost two in a row. We don't know who's pitching tonight, but it could be Julian Aguiar. If so, they couldn't be in better hands. Game starts at 6:10. We'll see what happens.

Both Daytona and Louisville are trailing currently. Both squads are in the 4th inning, and neither have scored.

Julian Aguiar is done after four solid innings.

    4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 K.

Luis mey came in, walked the first guy, went 1-1 on the second guy, then threw 8 straight strikes to K the side.

Mey has an electric arm-- at times. But that 11+ ERA isn't indicative of it at all.

Looks like he's a bullpen arm for now. Replaced after the one inning.

McLain got hit by a pitch, then stole his 4th base of the season. He came around on TJ Hopkins' 5th double of the year.

    Lookouts lead, 1-0.

Tugas tie it up at two. Hendrick got hit, stole a base, and came around on two wild pitches. (Low A ball, right?)

    Rough night on the farm.

Louisville shut out, 5-0 by Columbus.

    Chattanooga blasted by Tennessee, 10-5.

Dayton shut out by Fort Wayne, 4-0.

    Only Daytona won, 3-2.

    Isiah Gilliam
wins the Mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Day for his 2-4 night. Included in that night is his 5th double and 4th HR of the season. He's now at a .974 OPS for the season.

Pretty badly disappointed with Williamson so far. He seems to be all out of sorts.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Yeah, its a bummer. Phillips looks good, though.

But yeah, if Williamson ends up being a bust, this is going to be an all-timer Reds trade.
What would you say.....ya do here?
