Ben Lively starts. He's o-fer 2022, at 0-3 with an equally miserble 5.38 ERA through April. He faces off against Nathan Kirby, who sports a 1.69 ERA but is 0-1. Louisville is 8-16 and owns one of the worst records in minor league baseball. They're facing the 13-10 Indians. Game begins at 6:35, but it looks murky out there.

Chattanooga @ Rocket City
The Lookouts face their equal and opposite in the Trash Pandas. Both teams sport equally dazzling 13-8 records coming into this series. Chattanooga hitters will face off against Brett Kerry, he of the 3.50 ERA and 32 Ks. Woof. That's... a lot. I'm guessing Sam McWilliams starts it, but who knows? Game begins at 7:35.

Lake County Captains @ Dayton
The Unhittable Joe Boyle starts for the Dragons. He's yet to be scored upon this young season and was nearly able to no-hit everyone in April. He'll face a 10-11 Captains squad at Day Air Ballpark. Gametime is 7:05.

Jupiter @ Daytona
Chase Petty goes for the 'Tugas. That's good news. He's the owner of a spiffy 1.32 ERA. He'll be opposed by Luis Palacios, whose got his own fine 2.65 ERA. The Tortugas went 1-5 in their last series and are now 9-12. They'll face the 11-10 Hammerheads beginning at 7:05 tonight at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Maybe they need the home-cooking.

10 runs through 8 for Daytona. Hendrick homered, Allen a couple hits. Everyone in the lineup has at least 2 hit. Chase petty got knocked around a bit, giving up 4 runs in 3 innings (6H 2BB 4K)

The final tally:

Louisville won and looks to be rounding into shape as a solid hitting but pitching deficient .500-ish ballclub. Albert Almora had two hits. Again. He, Lorenzo Cedrola, Trey Amburgey, and Ronnie Dawson are right about 800 OPS among them. That's some solid production. Amburgey has really heated up as the weather has. He went 2-3 last night with his 4th HR. He also walked. Six total bases on the day will absolutely play every day. Louisville now has five regulars with OPSes over 800, plus Amburgey and Cedrola. Too bad the pitching is so bad. (Which is odd. Had you asked me before the season, I'd have insisted the pitching would have been solid.)

Chattanooga got shut out by the Trash Pandas, 5-0. It was an all-around butt whooping. 11 walks on the game for Lookout pitchers, 10 by Sam McWilliams and Miguel Medrano. Meanwhile, Trash Can pitchers gave up one. I blame the umpires. (Because it's so much easier.)

Daytona outlslugged the Jupiter Hammerheads, 10-6. Chase Petty did not have it last night. At all. 4 ER on 6 hits and 2 BBs in 3 innings is actually pretty lucky. Good thing his offense bailed him out. Austin Hendrick was the big bopper on the day with an inside-the-park HR (his 4th) and a 2B (his 3rd). For this, he is officially named the Mace Memorial Minor League Player of the Day. Jay Allen also had a couple of hits, as did Ruben Ibarra. (Maybe Ibarra is finally coming out of a month-long slump?) Ibarra also hit his first HR of the season, as did Danny Lantigua. Hayden Jones had a couple of hits too.
