Have to admire Overton’s chutzpah. He really has pedestrian stuff, but he looks like he knows how to pitch. Let him hang around for a while and tutor Greene.

Use him against LHP and as an insuracen policy for multiple positions, Trading him isn't going to bring anything back and they'll need a guy just like him next year anyway. It will likely cost more to replace him than any value they get for him. JUst accept that he is what he is, pay him for it and be glad they have a decent fundamentally sound vet on the bench to ease the transition.

The problem on this team isn't that the players are so awful that they can't fill roles on a decent team. The problem is they can't really fill the roles they are filling.
I see your point. But also Farmer will start to make close to starter money on his next contract. Might be too much for a bench piece. They aren't going to contend till 2024 at the very earliest. I think he would be better off on a contender. But I wouldn't hate it if they kept him either. Even bad teams need a couple veteran players.

Colin Moran bears a striking resemblance to Rutherford B. Hayes. And his OPS is comparable.

I have no idea what Larkin is blathering about.

100% of 85% of 100% is not the same as 95% of most guys’ 85%.

Speed is how teams that go 3-22 start to win games because of athletic ability. Speed is the rate at which some guys get to their position in the field and stops hitting homers, but still takes off-speed pitches at a faster pace. How do you win without hitting homers? Speed figures that out for you. It makes those fast guys who play at 95% of their 100% even more likely to get an 0-fer than a slow guy who is only giving 100% of his 75%. And that’s how you go from a bad team to an average team and back to a poor, slow bunch of 85%’ers.

If we think it's bad now. Imagine him being the manager. He has no clue.

Before you criticize someone, you should "walk a mile in their shoes", as the saying goes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away... and you have their shoes.

Lol, I was coming on here to mention how glad I am they have never made him manager, he does not have a good grasp of the intricacies of the game and would do alot of goofy stuff.
