Now, this isn't going to sound like a compliment, but it is. I'm getting shades of Roger Salkeld from him. Salkeld wasn't a great pitcher, but for seven starts in early 1996 he hit a vein of good form where he posted a 2.41 ERA over 41 IP. He turned back into a pumpkin and never pitched in the majors after 1996, but those who remember his glorious June of that season have been given a treasure that will last a lifetime.
