    Wish I had, but I actually mean it. I think this team could have a pretty interesting second half if they can get some people back, and I like some of the stories on the team. Plus what's done is done. No point in lamenting past trades, especially, in my view, when most of what we traded away was actually pretty mediocre. I honestly think I'd rather watch this team than another 75 win season with last year's cast of characters performing at this year's levels.

    Letting Iglesias go wasn't the problem. Replacing him with garbage was.

    If Reds were going to replace Iglesias in kind - with another established backend reliever - they wouldn’t have traded him in the first place.

    He had only one year remaining on his contract. There was no huge commitment. Any established replacement would have cost almost as much as his $9 million for 2021.

    Trade was a signal they were cutting costs. And that the bullpen was an area that would absorb some of those cuts.
