    5/12 Minor League Scores

Louisville starts Godley. That's unlikely to go well. Godley's pitched parts of 7 seasons in the majors and accrued 1.6 bWAR. He had one really good season, way way in 2017, for Arizona. He's a long way from 2017. Godley has a 7.42 ERA in 13.1 IP. He's given up 19 hits, 11 ER, 3 HR, and 14 BB. That works out to a (gulp) 2.475 WHiP. That 7.42 ERA is legit. Woof.

Carson Spiers toes the rubber for Chattanooga. Spiers has a 4.58 ERA so far this season. So far this year, he's giving up more than a hit per inning. That nearly two more hits per inning than he'd shown previously as a professional. He's got some work to do.

Thomas Farr is the starter for Dayton. Farr's ERA stands at 6.75, but he's only thrown 9.1 innings. I'm low-key shocked Christian Roa isn't starting this game, considering he's been added to the Dragon roster. Maybe this is another of those piggyback situations. It'll be interesting to see if that continues as prospects move up the ladder.

Javier Rivera starts for Daytona. He's the only starter with an ERA under 4.00. Hopefully, Red affiliates have their hitting shoes on. Rivera's ERA is an excellent 3.32. He's tossed 19 innings with an 11.8 K/9 against 1.4 BB/9. Considering how poorly Red prospective pitchers tend to locate their pitches, that's awesome. 7.1 H/9 is also great. That 0.947 augers for even more dominance from Rivera. He's one to watch, at any rate. (Might be he's the only one to watch tonight...)

Signed as nondrafted free agent by Reds, June 21, 2020 RHP Carson Spiers had a decent FB and very good control of his breaking ball. With 1 out he had bases loaded in the 3rd after a McLain bobble. Came right back and got a 4-6-3 DP McLain made up for his error. Nice job. Gets a lot of grounders with his breaking ball.

Kid threw so many breaking balls early he was able to use his FB late as a sneaky pitch, just a nice job of pitching. Had 1 out in the 7th and pitching coach came out for a visit. He rebounded well with a strike em out throw em out DP. Nice job. If I was going to compare him to anyone it would be Mahle.

There was 2 mammoth shoots hit in the Dayton game. Elly De La Cruz hit one that looked like a Ken Griffey Jr. special. The second baseman had a WTF moment with his reaction. Ball looked like it landed in some tunnel.

Alex McGarry's belt was a moon shot that cleared the fence in RF.
