It really speaks poorly upon Thom when I see Alcantara and all I think of is Thom’s over-enunciation of his name.

When people say Stephenson is the "best Reds catcher since Bench" do they mean he’s a better catcher than Hannigan – better defensively, has a better arm, manages the game better than Ryan? Or are they saying that Stephenson is the best hitting catcher since Bench.

I take it as them saying “the total package.”

That says to me that people don't appreciate what a catcher means to a team defensively and in his ability to manage the game on the field. No way Tyler comes close to Hannigan in these areas-at least not yet.

He's a good target, but this isn't Dodger zone. The Reds don't sign free agents that have value to other teams - it's not going to happen.
    Where we gonna go?

Definitely me. Rutchman may turn into what TySteve is today eventually, but TySteve is already there.

Prestigious or not, catchers are tricky to develop. Maybe Rutchman turns into a HOFer, maybe he turns into Matt Wieters.

    Theoretical dude.

I keep hearing all this love for Adley ((was) the best prospect in the game!!!) but I’d be hard pressed to take him over Tyler.

Rutschman is the real deal IMO. I doubt the O's would move him. Maybe Castillo and Stephenson for Rutchman and prospects. How crazy would it be if the O's keep playing well and all 5 AL East teams are in on a Castillo trade? The O's could really use an ace.

Can he play left field? I was on the keep him at catcher wagon but he's just not going to stay healthy there.

He may not get the chance.

He’s out now with a broken clavicle, likely season ending. The Reds have to thinking hard about moving him off of catcher.

Yeah. I didn't expect my second half enthusiasm to die this quick. Hate it for him
