Mahle laughing at poor Overton for not having any strikeouts yet through the 5th. Also wondering why he isn't being pulled, and then realized he's at 63 pitches through 5. Would love for him to make the connection.

I'm not crazy about Friedl but at least he can field and hit the ball harder than Lopez

Still trying to figure why 4 people are batting ahead of our best hitter.

    Pham, Naquin, Stephenson, MM

What team was it? and who was the hitter that broke up the no-hitter?

    Answer coming after tonight's game
Hint the player that broke up Maloney's bid for a no-hitter on Opening Day 1965 later went on to play with The Big Red Machine

Eventually Overton's luck will run out but it's sure been a sight for sore eyes while it lasts.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I am guessing Expos and the player Bob Bailey.

It's pretty shocking that the Reds middle IF depth at the MLB and AAA level are guys they picked up off the scrap heap after the season started. I know India, Solano, Shrock, and Barrero are out, but it's too bad they don't have even a middling prospect in the upper minors to give a look to instead of a guy like Reynolds.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"
