Going to be a very interesting second half. I like this team.

    Wow!!!!!

7 out of 9 with the only losses being both by just a run, where we rallied with 3 in the 8th to get close in one and no-hit the other team in the other to lose a heartbreaker.

These no-name guys don't know they are supposed to lose. They have nothing to lose and are playing their hearts out and having fun. Got to give credit to the Manager here, whether you like it or not.

Very good chemistry between the two.

On to Toronto. IIRC in the past the Reds have gotten throttled up there. Maybe they can turn it around this time.
Yes, you are right. The Reds are 2-7 lifetime in Toronto and I’ve been at all the games. These are the scores (W is a Jays win):

    H 2017/05/31 Toronto Blue Jays 5 - Cincinnati Reds 4 W
    H 2017/05/30 Toronto Blue Jays 6 - Cincinnati Reds 4 W
    H 2017/05/29 Toronto Blue Jays 17 - Cincinnati Reds 2 W
    H 2009/06/25 Toronto Blue Jays 5 - Cincinnati Reds 7 L
    H 2009/06/24 Toronto Blue Jays 8 - Cincinnati Reds 2 W
    H 2009/06/23 Toronto Blue Jays 7 - Cincinnati Reds 5 W
    H 2008/06/26 Toronto Blue Jays 7 - Cincinnati Reds 1 W
    H 2008/06/25 Toronto Blue Jays 5 - Cincinnati Reds 6 (10) L
    H 2008/06/24 Toronto Blue Jays 14 - Cincinnati Reds 1 W

There were a few first inning Reds pitching meltdowns in there, including by the usually dependable Aaron Harang.

I think I remember Bronson Arroyo getting smashed in one of those big losses.

Yes, that’s right. I know he’s not that popular with a lot of people on this site but I always liked watching him pitch.

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of. What was it, like two outs, 9 runs, all earned, also in May?

I looked it up. It was 10 runs on 11 hits in one full inning.

Be careful what you go to look up…..you might find it! I spent years keeping that particular memory under lock and key. I will send my therapy bill to you soon

I was amazed that Bronson was able to get anyone out with the junk he threw up there. But he did. He carved out a very nice major league career for himself. The guy was extemely intelligent, knew his craft, and got big league hitters out with his guile and little else. He was fun to watch. In my opinion he would make an outstanding big league pitching coach.

The last Reds game I have been able to attend due to health trouble (Back trouble) Makes it too hard to make the 2 hour 30 min or so trek. Last game was Arroyo's last ML game. Vs. The Dodgers. I told my buddie before the first pitch that this would be his last game. Watching his previous starts was easy to predict he was done. Thankfully I got to see Arroyo win several games that I attended.
    Soto 7
    Seaver 6
    Harang 6
    Gullett 6
Most wins on games I attended. I scored every game. Even as a 8 year old.
    Arroyo 6
    Gullett was 6-0.
