I am embarrassed for reds players!

How can you expect them to survive an press forward when Votto does even leave 3rd base and just waits for the out!

    He didnt even try!

    What a shame!

I don't think Votto is here for the next two years. Depending on what ownership does to address the holes in the bullpen, and other areas, he may not even be back next season. He's been an excellent ambassador for the Reds.

He's coming back next season at a minimum.

Depending on how he does next year, he'll either be given $7 mil to retire or agree to a 1-year deal in the $10-15 mil range for 2024.

He will be here, he will get paid, retire and be inducted in the HOF

Yeah, that surprised me and it’s a shame. That’s bad baseball...but I suppose it fits in with most everything else they do.

I agree with the last two, not the first two. If I'm wrong you are free to tell me "I told you so!".

Votto is signed through next season. 2024 is a team option with a buyout.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Yes. Why do people think they are not going to buy out his option after next year. They would be in their right to do so and should.

They will. And should. They’ve run the franchise into the dirt. Why spend $15 million for another pointless season? Might as well go full Pirates for a while.

I really don’t believe they will go Pirates or Rays level without a farm system pumping in players on a consistent level. However paranoia strikes deep for Reds fans at this point. Into our lives it has creeped and it will not go away anytime soon.

They’ve been the Pirates since 2014, with a brief 18 month breather in 20-21. No reason not to go back to that well.

I posted on the game thread, Pujols, on a courtesy, farewell tour $2.5M contract, is producing at an eerily identical level as the $25M cleanup hitter we employ.
Seeing favorite players age is always blinding, and never fun.
