I noticed most times the first game of a series. The Reds lineup is being released later than games 2,3 or 4.
That pretty much confirms the lineup for the entire series is made out 3 hours or so before first pitch of the first series game.

Wade Miley will be honored before tonight’s Reds-Cubs game and presented with the team’s 2021 Most Outstanding Pitcher award.

The Reds today transferred the rehab assignment of OF Jake Fraley from Class A Dayton to Triple-A Louisville.

Of all the moves they made the Miley move still looks idiotic. It wouldn't have looked as bad had they not traded for a lesser version of Miley in Minor.

David Bell says Jonathan India is another 10 days to two weeks away from starting a rehab assignment. He’s doing baseball activities, but his hamstring isn’t fully healed.

Mike Minor is scheduled to make his next (and possibly last) rehab start at Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. He’s expected to throw 80 pitches

Thought they might ride Aquino's hot bat

They should have. Won't see him though till next time they face a LHP most likely. Pham could use a day off. There are ways to keep Aquino in the lineup at least semi regular till he cools off .
Not just the 2 HR game either. The guy was mashing AAA as well. He may sit for 7-10 days.Be cold as ice by then.LHP isn't that plentiful.

Lots of guys mash AAA. We’ve seen Aquino before.

Reds face a lefty on Thursday. Justin Steele.

I was thinking Steele was a LH. That's good for Aquino. Nobody thinks Aquino will produce long term. But they changed his stance in AAA back to his old stance and the results are there.
He did it once before for a short time. Not impossible he could put up a big month stretch again.
I say play him till he cools off. They have nothing to lose. Pham is not exactly ripping the ball. Wouldn't hurt for him to sit tonight. And I highly doubt Senzel will play Wed night game and turn around a play a day game Thursday.
All I am saying is give him 5-6 straight days of playing time and see what happens. Not like they would be sitting a all star Caliber bat to get him in the lineup for a week.
If he goes 1-25 with 20 Ks. Like he very well could then just bench him or pull the plug for good.
Most teams with a linup the caliber of the Reds would absolutely be playing the hot hand. They wouldn't worry about what hand the opponent pitcher throws with.

All because of one game. Two swings.

Let’s forget the 49% K rate and 4% walk rate. Against RHP this year a 53% K rate, last year 44%.

Aquino will play against the lefty on Thursday. Maybe he’ll pinch hit against a lefty tonight or tomorrow. That’s enough for this series.

    Joel Luckhaupt
    @jluckhaupt

Over his last 3 starts, Tyler Mahle has a 2.60 ERA and a .136 batting average against.

Only Sandy Alcantara's .133 average against is lower in the NL during that span.

Going back to last season, Tyler Mahle has allowed 4 home runs over his last 13 starts,
which is the fewest HR he's allowed over any 13-start stretch of his career.

Reds are down 1-0 in the top of the first, but they struck out Ian Happ, so I already consider today a victorious day for the Reds.
