I'm a fan of vampire stories and find them particularly scary. In addition to the ones mentioned here, I would recommend An episode of Cathedral history by M.R. James. https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/A_Thi...hedral_History
It's one of a couple of vampire stories, along with Carmilla, that I read every year or two. Carmilla gets a lot of attention because of the lesbian angle, but it both pre-dated Dracula and created many of the vampire tropes. Like Stoker, LeFanu was Irish, and from what I've been reading about Irish legends recently, that seems to have been a contributing factor.
