I visit once or twice a year and have loved it each time.
Half Moon Bay is particularly gorgeous, as is Berkeley.
And Chinatown and downtown San Francisco is just about perfect-- aside from cost.
It's the cleanest big city I've ever visited, and it's not particularly close.

I went to an UNC vs NC State ACC tournament game about 10 years ago in Durham I'll never forget. Rodon and future Blue Jay Trent Thornton locked in a pitcher's duel that ended in a 2-1 Tar Heel win in 18 innings. Rodon went 10 innings and gave up one run. Trea Turner hit leadoff for NC State and Colin Moran hit three hole for the Heels.
