And while it was an overly aggressive and unnecessary lead at first base, I don’t believe he was tagged out. We can blame him for taking the risk, but ultimately it appeared to me he was safe.
It didn't appear to me that he was safe. If he was going to lead off that far, he should have shadowed the first baseman, not trail him. Just not smart ball.

Who am I thinking of from last year who refused a minor league stint? Somebody on the team did, I thought for sure it was Senzel.

The 3B coach has the responsibility to warn the runner leading off second about the SS sneaking in behind him, albeit on a pickoff play. Where was DeShields when Bell started breaking toward the bag? Senzel would have been back easily with the coach's warning. I liked the aggressive lead... also agree that the glove passed over his arm without touching based on the view from home.

This series cemented the fact that the Reds are, despite a good May, the worst team in the NL.

I still think they might finish ahead of a couple or three teams(depending on whether or not Castillo or Mahle remain Reds). However, any way you slice it, this was a very disappointing series. This was a series they should have been able to win.
