In the second game, Julian Aguilar had an adventurous outing for Daytona. He walked 4, hit a batter, uncorked 2 wild pitches and watched a ground balll got booted. He was with 4 runs (1 earned) in his brief time on the mound. Jay Allen II scored the lone Tortuga tally on a walk, a stolen base (22), an error and a wild pitch. Tortugas doubled their first game hit total on single off the bat of Jack Rogers, and a double by Austin Callahan, who saw his first action of the year. Owen Holt went 2.1 scoreless in the nightcap, dropping his ERA to 0.52.
Dayton - continues to steamroll the Midwest League, winning 8-3. That ups their season's mark to 35-15, giving them a 7.5 game cushion in the first half title race. James Proctor dealt out a solid start, 2 runs over 6 innings.
JV Martinez and Rece Hinds each singled and double. Garrett Woolforth singled twice and was hit by a pitch.
