I wouldn’t blame Votto for either of those plays, but a most first basemen make those plays.

Farmer I can at least squint and see as each team needs a rep.

But if the Reds were in the World Series and I wanted the best catcher I’d want JT, Sal Perez, Will Smith, Contreras and probably others over him easily. That’s my personal “who is best” take, based on track record not just the past 9 months or so.

I love the Reds, and I want those players and coaches to win.... but it is nauseating to see how bad we look more often than not

I'm not blaming him, the major fault were on the throws, one the choice to throw, but basic fundamental principles say to get in front of the ball, and that could have minimized the damage. After all it is a team sport.

In what world are either one of those Votto's fault? Aquino's went underneath a diving Arenado with Votto being completely blocked out. Meanwhile, Drury decided to throw it about half way to first base.

Kind of a weird moment of silence there after Aquino's single

In the past 48 hours or so on here there have been takes that the Reds should still be going for the playoffs this year. (So far as organizational decisions go)

I am pretty much ready for Reds to unload a lot of these vets and just allow our prospects to get time. I can stomach those kids playing hard and making mistakes

I hope that people were joking. The Reds have a mathematical chance, but so does most everyone at this point. The Reds are gonna lose 90-100 games. The bullpen is an absolute joke, and the starters won't go past 6 innings most of time, tho they have been pretty good as of late

To be fair, I think folks were talking about keeping good veterans for 2023, not so much to compete this season.

Still misguided IMO, but that’s how I recall the argument.

The post was in the Drury thread and said “if they make a playoff push” hold onto the vets because right now they aren’t that far out of it in a weak division.
