Fair point. And, I meant Free Agency. My fingers typed arbitration for some reason. But, my point remains the same. We can get all the young talent in the world, but this ownership group is not going to let that talent age long enough to have Astros or Braves type success. It will be dismantled before it gets to that point unless the youngsters reach full impact sooner than expected.

Ron, Totally off topic here. But it looks like you like I do have a sleeping problem. Going on the times you post. This at 4 am other times I saw you were awake at 1am. My thing has been falling asleep around 1230 AM waking up between 3-4 AM. Then I get sleepy around 8 AM sleep a hour or two. Then feel terrible the rest of the day. Mine is due to health. Not being able to work anymore. Therefore not tired enough to sleep 6-8 hours consecutively. So I get 4-5 hours a day but split and not consecutively.
Sorry if I am being noisy.

My trade deadline fantasy is that the Reds are sold on July 15th and the new ownership group immediately fires Krall and ceases any trades until the new GM can see what is in the organization and what it needs. This fantasy even acknowledges the Reds may miss out on some prospect out there by holding on to a Mahle/Castillo for a bit too long, but the current group would like sell the current Reds for a bag of magic beans, so I'm willing to gamble on standing pat.

Disagree. There's a change in philosophy from before. Targets now are high ceiling guys from other teams. Phillips, Williamson, and Petty all fit that mold. If the Reds get a package around Baty or Ramirez from the mets, that's so much better than a package around, say, Kahlil Lee who is young and controllable, but doesn't have much of a ceiling.

I can the scenario where Moose gets packaged with a SP for more reallocation of assets

Usually the Reds don't break out the line about making calls and gauging the market until after a GM meeting or trade deadline fails to bring trades. Nice they are breaking out the platitudes early this year.
