In Donovan Solano's first at-bat with the Reds, he hits an RBI double.
Solano was signed because of his ability to make contact and his ability to hit lefties. So far, so good for the Reds.

Good throw by Pham but Turner is fast. 3-1.

Castill on pace for another 5 innings.
Castillo wiggles out of a jam with no further damage.

I haven't followed the club closely this season. I rarely watch them on TV or listen on the radio, and when I do it's just background noise. I still come to RZ, more to be sociable than anything else, but so much has happened to kill my love of the game.
1. The rules changes. Most notably the DH (which I loathe with the intensity of a million suns), but also the Ghost Runner/Manfred Man on 2B in extra innings (which I hate even more than the DH). And the "Covid" DL, where a player might be inactive for only a game or two. It's hard for me to follow a club when I don't know who is on the team from one day to the next.
2. Phil Castellini popping off at the mouth before the home opener. Thanks for letting us know how you really feel about us.
3. The 3-22 start. Way to let all the air out of the balloon, guys.
All of these things together have made me reevaluate how invested I want to be with this club. It's not hard to distance myself, since they have gutted the team like a fish. (Votto is the only player on the team who has been here more than five* years.) I still like coming to RZ and talking baseball history, but my attachment to the Reds is tenuous at best, and I don't know if I will ever enjoy it like I did, and I can easily see myself walking away from it and not coming back.

Maybe we need to trot out as many unknowns as possible. I think we can trick our way back to .500
What’s Votto’s walk up now? I heard a guitar but wasn’t paying attention.

“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”

#ScoreboardStumper:
Since 1980, four pitchers have struck out 225 or more batters in a season, while playing for the Reds.
Who are they?
