    I'll try this again... lol

    ScoreboardStumper:
Since 1980, four pitchers have struck out 225 or more batters in a season, while playing for the Reds.
    Who are they?

    1. The rules changes. Most notably the DH (which I loathe with the intensity of a million suns), but also the Ghost Runner/Manfred Man on 2B in extra innings (which I hate even more than the DH). And the "Covid" DL, where a player might be inactive for only a game or two. It's hard for me to follow a club when I don't know who is on the team from one day to the next.

    2. Phil Castellini popping off at the mouth before the home opener. Thanks for letting us know how you really feel about us.

    3. The 3-22 start. Way to let all the air out of the balloon, guys.

All of these things together have made me reevaluate how invested I want to be with this club. It's not hard to distance myself, since they have gutted the team like a fish. (Votto is the only player on the team who has been here more than four years.) I still like coming to RZ and talking baseball history, but my attachment to the Reds is tenuous at best, and I don't know if I will ever enjoy it like I did, and I can easily see myself walking away from it and not coming back.
As can be seen by the number of posts on game threads - many have diminished attachment

The Reds way of going about their business isn't the only reason for the diminished number of posts in game threads.

I am very close to where you are with the Reds and baseball in general. It's mostly a habit to keep coming back. But that habit is subsiding quickly these days.

I just on because we have our kids and spouses and babies and my sister and her kids in since last Wednesday. And I’m tired. Everyone finally left today. Fun but exhausting.

Easily the 4 best Reds starting pitchers since 80. I used that theory to guess.
I knew Soto was 4 sure. The others I was 75% sure on. Not to take away from guys like Browning and others. But those 4 had the best stuff.

Didn't realize Castillo had that many.
    Mario Soto (274 in 1982 & 242 in 1983)
    Jose Rijo (227 in 1993)
    Johnny Cueto (242 in 2014)
    Luis Castillo (226 in 2019)

    Dodgers / Reds
    1. 840 / 600
    2. 850 / 820
    3. 770 / 770
    4. 580 / 700
    5. 780 / 750
    6. 620 / 1.500 (lol!)
    7. 640 / 690
    8. 300 / 740
    9. 750 / 420

I find it fun to compare relative OPS per batting slot.

Castillo is laughable. May not even get 5 innings.

Shame we didn't get prime Soto on those mid to late 80s teams. Not to mention 90.

    I’m tired of Castillo.
