I am guessing they’ll give Marte a handful of weeks in Dayton, more to assess his glove than anything.

I would move McLain to AAA, though.

It has been Go Big or Go Home for Ashton Creal so far tonight. 2 HRs and 3 Ks. Daytona has blown a 6-0 lead.

    Brandon Williamson's line tonight: 4.1 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K. Bats moundsmen have fanned 11 through 6 innings of play, still Louisville trails 4-1.

Mike Siani has singled twice and pilfered a pair of sacks, giving him 38 on the year.

Matt McLain went deep for the 14th time in '22.

Tyler Callihan has hit safely in 5 straight, and 9 of 10. He has a couple of base knocks tonigh.

Austin Hendrix has chipped in a single and a double.

    Joe Boyle went the front six: 4 H, 5 BB, 8 K.

CES off to a good start with an opposite field single and a walk so far in two at-bats.

The Reds do have an aversion of putting prospects in AAA.

EDLC with an inside the park HR tonight. It was a bullet over the center fielder's head and he made a Billy Hamilton-esque move to "steal" home.

    Re: 6/23 Odds and Ends

The Reds Dominican Summer League team must have been wiped out by Covid. They haven't played a game since July 26th, as far as I can tell.

Justin Nicolino starts for Louisville today. After a horrible month of May (16.20 ERA in one start) and June (7.08 ERA in five starts), he bounced back with a respectable month of July (3.42 ERA in 4 starts).

Chase Petty will make his second start for Dayton. The first start was forgettable (6 ER in 3 IP).

Noelvi Marte was a unanimous selection for Player of the Month for July in the Northwest League. Check out these otherworldly numbers. Everett AquaSox (Mariners) infielder Noelvi Marte batted .384/.455/.709 and led the league in hits (33), runs (23), home runs (seven), RBIs (26), average (.384), total bases (61), on-base percentage (.455), slugging percentage (.709) and OPS (1.164). He was fourth in the league in doubles (seven) and recorded 10 multi-hit games. He was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in the Luis Castillo deal on July 30. Marte, 20, was signed by Seattle as an international free agent out of Cotui, Dominican Republic, on July 2, 2018.

    Chase Petty's numbers for the night: 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K.

Allan Cerda hit a bit of a wall in Chattanooga, but now is back doing what he does best - OPSing over .800.

    Re: 6/23 Odds and Ends

With last night's outburst, Encarnacion-Strand's career minor league numbers passed a bit of a milestone. His OPS went above 1.000.

    His professional numbers: 111 games, 493 PAs, .322/ .387/ .613/ 1.000/ 30 HR/ 106 RBI/ 41 BB/ 128 K. That works out to a 25.9 K and an 8.3 BB rate.

According to Steamer, if you dropped him into a major league lineup right now, he's be 12% better than league average offensively the rest of the season.
