    They don't swing at every pitch. The wait until there is 2 strikes and then swing at a pitch way out of the strike zone. And the Reds analysts will then tell all of us in the listening audience, it's hard to hit a baseball. This is and has been the Reds way for a long time. Give Donovan Solano another month or so and his .278 career average will be about .220.

    The only hitting coach I saw that got players to buy into taking more pitches. Working counts. Was Chris Chambliss.
    The issue is not having enough players who do that on their own or know how to. Dunn. Hatteburg. Votto. Winker. Pham. They have the skill and will to do it.

    Castillo really buckled down after giving up 2 singles to start the inning. Nice composure to strike out the side.

    Is it possible a guy can work the count and not be slow as molasses?
