He's also gets hit hard if he's not avoiding batters. It's fun and all to see lots of K's but that's no good if you're giving up 5-6 runs a game.

Sounds like something Satch would say. No, this was the era of artificial turf in the 70's. This fella wasn't a fan of fake grass, the media(or anyone else, for that matter).

Here's another one of my favorite quotes of his: " I'll play first, third, left . I'll play anywhere--- except Philadelphia ."

Ritchie Dick Allen. Should be in the hall of fame. Ridiculous Baines is and guys like Allen isn't.
I highly recommend if you haven't read the book big hair and plastic grass. About 70s baseball. Also stars and stripes about the 76 season. Books by Dan Epstein.

Reds hitters continue to not realize the pitcher is trying to get them to do something…they forget they are trying to rally outs

The Cubs may have got out of another jam with a DP, but in roughly a century when they win their next WS this will be forgotten.

Luis Cessa gives up a 2 run homer to Contreras.

I hate it but my fantasy team loves it.

I think it’s safe to say Cessa has been a bust this year

Can't get much 70's baseball knowledge past you, my man. Seventies is definitely my sweet spot as well.

Something tells me that this is the case for a lot of Reds fans.

If he was still with the Yankees he would be just fine. They turn manure into good there. Have you seen the garbage and retreads they have putting up 0s daily. Never getting tired or overworked it seems. No bullpen anywhere is this bad as here. It can’t all be the pitchers either.
