I still got my game. Ah, the memories. I got mine in 1981. There was a group of us that maintained a league all through HS. I haven't had it out since '85.

Just recently acquired inside pitch. It’s a fun game. I play it. Strat. Apba. Payoff pitch. Replay. The all are a lot of fun. Good way to get away from a computer. And play sone good Reds teams.

Played a lot of Strat, but never did a strict replay season. Hope the Reds can take the World Series this time.

I used to play apba and strat years ago. I think I like inside pitch better. Payoff pitch looks like a good game as well.

I remember replaying the 76 Reds season in Strat They won it all and turned out pretty similar. I also had a lot of the all time teams like the 27 Yankees. I would play a tournament with these teams. The 76 Reds usually won. It was either them or the 27 Yankees that would win it. I also had the 62 Mets just for fun. Every now and again they would beat one of these all time teams but not much. They were as bad as in real life.
IIRC, I had all the MLB teams from the 76 and 77 seasons. Reds were quite a contrast in those two seasons. Mainly from pitching. I also made up an all star team from those 76 and 77 MLB teams and would play them against the all time teams. That all star team always won. I don't think any team beat them in a series. So much fun and good memories.

I enjoy playing simulated seasons with Baseball Mogul. You can play it pitch by pitch or an entire season at a time. I normally use one pitch per batter, takes about ten minutes for a game.

I predict that a couple of guys who haven't played for the team yet, Foster and Griffey, are going to be very good players moving forward.

Re: My 1973 Reds replay season stats.

Interesting read from Forbes that proclaims the 1973 Reds the best ever team that didn't win the world series.

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomvanri...-world-series/

    one excerpt:

What really jumps out when looking into the greatest non-championship teams: the near-dynasty of Cincinnati during the first half of the 1970s. As much acclaim as the “Big Red Machine” did get, it was probably still underrated. Awhile back, we scored the 1975 version of the Reds, the first to break through and win the World Series, as the greatest ever (their 2.67 score, based on 108 wins, falls just slightly behind the 1973 club, and they didn’t blow it in the post season). The Reds clubs of 1970, ’73 and ’75 all rank in the top eight all time for regular season play, while the 1976 team also won a championship. As the saying goes, anything can happen in a short series. A handful of wins is all that separates the Big Red Machine from being the greatest seven-year dynasty ever.

What I remember most about that season is the mid-June trade with San Diego for Norman, with him going 12-6 with a 3.30 ERA for the Reds (and placing 6th for the NL CYA). I had never even heard of him.

Re: My 1973 Reds replay season stats.

Update sort of. I been sick and haven't been able to play. But today I did play the 1973 all star game.
    The Nl wins it 6-4.
They score 2 runs in the first inning on a walk by Rose and a 2 run HR by Aaron.
They get 2 more in the 2nd to take a 4-0 lead . Solo HR by Bench and a Double by Speier and a single by Rose.
The AL gets on the board in the bot of 2nd on a single by Otis and a run scoring Double by Murcer.

The NL scores again in top 3rd to go up 5-1 on a single and steal by Cedeno and a double by Billy Williams.
AL storms back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to make it a 5-4 game.
Single by Carew and Rbi double by John Mayberry playing in front of the KC fans.
Reggie Jackson singles Mayberry to 3rd. He scores on a big 6-4-3 DP hit into by Otis.
Then 3 straight singles by Mercer, Fisk and Brooks Robinson produce another run.

The NL scores what turns out to be the last run of the game in the top of the 4th on a pinch hit HR by Joe Torre.
Pitching on both sides take over after that. As neither team scores again.
I managed to get every player who wasn't injured in the game from both sides.
Concepcion and Yaz were both injured.
Starter Rick Wise got the win and Starter Catfish Hunter took the loss. Dave Guisti picked up the save.
    Mvp goes to Aaron.
I will resume weekly updates on the Reds 2nd half once I fell up to playing a weeks worth of games.
I hope to have this finished by world series time.
Thanks for all the likes on my original post. That told me that some of you were interested.
