Marte and Arroyo listed as 1/2 overall prospects on a few sites. Very nice.

    Castillo to mariners

Per mlb pipeline, Marte is the #18 prospect in baseball. Arroyo is #93.

    Re: Castillo to mariners

    SS Noelvi Marte (High-A Everett)
Marte, who will turn 21 in October, is the crown jewel of the Mariners’ farm system. He remains a shortstop, but the consensus is with his growth — he’s probably about 6-foot-2 and around 215 pounds — he’ll end up at a corner infield spot eventually.

He has followed up a strong stateside debut in 2021 with Low-A Modesto with a strong season so far with Everett, as he has slashed .267/.359/.457 with 15 home runs and 12 steals. He’s hitting .364 in July, with seven homers.

Marte has improved on his walk rate (11 percent) and strikeout rate (21 percent) from a year ago against better pitching. The sky could be the limit with this kid, especially if he somehow remains at shortstop.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

I am bullish! Stoudt looks good too. Moore seems like a throw-in to soak up ABs for the big league club.

If it's the four being leaked, then it's not a bad deal. We get the 1,3,5 prospects of the M's plus a lower tier guy. Matte is #18 overall and Arroyo is number 93. However, it's two more SS's to go with Barrera and de La Cruz.

    Re: Castillo to mariners

Keep him? Although Marte hasn’t had Julio Rodríguez’s kind of success in the minors, he has fared well at each level and against older competition. If he spends all of 2023 in Double A as a 21-year-old, maybe he’s ready for the big leagues in 2024, if not sooner.

Deal him? You can argue that Marte’s value has never been this high, especially with how well he’s handled High A as a 20-year-old. If you’re making a big swing for a trade — a big swing — I would have to think there’s a good chance that Marte anchors the deal from Seattle’s side.

    Pain level (0 to 10): 9

You don’t worry about having too many young good players, especially when you aren’t going to be a winning team in the next few years.

Mariners fans seem upset, always a good sign.

Reading my timeline the mix of prospects guys are pretty impressed with the return. Looks like Krall did good.

Heading to Reds, per @Ctrent: Noelvi Marte, Levi Stoudt, Edwin Arroyo, Dylan Moore. Three of Mariners’ top five prospects, per @MLBPipeline.

    - - - Updated - - -

Is the Ms system good? Is that 3 of the top 5 from a bad system or a good system?

Correction: Moore is RHP Andrew Moore, per
