I think he’s the Reds SS of the future. Guy that gets put there will likely just be keeping a spot warm before moving positions
Where would Marte play?
SS is full-up with De La Cruz and McLain. Unless you want to move at least one of them to 3B or CF, having three guys at one position seems untenable.
McLain to AAA. Let Marte and De La Cruz alternate SS and 3b or get De LA Cruz and outfielders glove.
I'm all about Marte at 3B, De La Cruz at SS, McLain at 2B and Encarnacion-Strand at 1B. That might be the best infield in the minor leagues.

Why would you move the best defender of the two? De La Cruz has been repeatedly praised for his defensive abilities.

Marte makes too many errors at SS. He has the power and the arm to be a third baseman. I could also see him in RF. If anyone moves Elly off SS it'll be Arroyo IMO.

Ok. Then Marte gets an outfield glove. Someone is going to have to move to the OF. So long as they hit, it’ll get figured out
