At first glance, all three have really solid MiLB numbers. I like it.

TwinsTwitter loves the deal for them it seems. Probably not an awesome sign.

Either Mahle is really not valuable, Krall received praise prematurely, or what I suspected came true in that the Reds were determined to unload Mahle no matter the return. Don’t have an awesome feeling on this one.

Heavy price of doing business for a team-controlled player. #MNTwins give up a ton for Tyler Mahle.

Twins fans saying all 3 guys will be moving up prospect rankings. Seems a bit light to me though

Encarnaction-Strand is belting the ball at AA in his initial weeks there. Recently got notice in one of the publications as hot hitter.

But it comes at a significant cost. Not only are three players top Twins 20 prospects, all of them have had remarkable seasons this year.

Spencer Steer , a third round draft pick in 2019 (and #6 on TD’s Twins prospect list) sailed through AA and has continued his hot hitting in St. Paul, posting a 889 OPS with 20 homer runs between both leagues.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand (TD’s #16) began 2022 with 14 RBI in his first two games in High-A Cedar Rapids, has also been promoted, and currently has a 1085 OPS in AA as a 22-year-old.
Steve Hajjar (TD’s #19) was last year’s 2nd round draft pick, and has 71 K in 43.1 innings in Low A Fort Myers, with a 2.89 ERA in 12 starts.
“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”

Re: Mahle traded to the Twins

If I heard correctly, all the players the Reds got were "on the rise", so it'll be interesting to see where they slot in the updated rankings.

Regardless, the Reds had to trade Mahle. His value isn't going to get any higher. In a perfect world, he doesn't have the injury, which undoubtedly hurt his value a bit.

In their most recently updated top 100 list,
    @BaseballAmerica
    ranked Spencer Steer #97. #Reds #RedsMiLB
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

Wasn’t expecting a Castilllo return, but I’m underwhelmed.

Are the Reds planning for a 7 man infield? Are the Reds OF-intolerant?

Montas trade may have cost the Reds a better return, but it's not like this is a bad return at all. Dayton's rotation in 2023 is going to be very interesting.

Only getting the 7, 18 and 23 rated prospect from a bottom tier prospect pool seems extremely light for an above average starter with another year of team control
YEa, I won't call this a bad trade yet, but it doesnt' really seem what Mahle should have been worth.
I guess the Twins knew Mahle had to be gone to make Phil C happy.
I would have rather the Reds held Mahle and tried again in the winter.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand is an absolute stud. Steven Hajjar is having a fantastic season.
    So is Spencer Steer.

    This was a lot.

But it also gets the #MNTwins one-plus years and a chance to lock up Tyler Mahle to a long-term deal.

    They needed this badly.

Seems like a fair return. Krall did well again. (On paper)
