    Starter #5

I'm having a hard time figuring what the Reds see in Dugger.

    In 86.2 career MLB IP, he has given up 11.1 H/9, 1.9 HR/9, and 4.1 BB/9.

    He's 0-7, with an ERA of 7.17.

I realize that they're short-handed given the trades and Greene's IL stint, but shouldn't they have better options squirreled away in AAA?

They should, yes, but they are cheap idiots.

They have Williamson and Dunn, both who almost definitely will be added to the rotation next week now that Greene is on the IL.

I have no idea why they didn’t use one of them for yesterday’s start. Maybe they want them to pitch on their regular start day?

They're both doing pretty poorly in AAA, and Williamson isn't on the 40 Man. Not sure why you'd send them out there just to get lit up if you see a future in them, you can do that with Dugger and just DFA him the next day.

I'd probably be looking at the waiver wire for guys who are stretched out and have a little bit more upside than a Dugger.

That explains it. I haven’t checked to see how they were doing. Thanks for the update.

It really doesn’t matter at this point. Just do no harm to 2023 and beyond.

Dunn, Williamson and Stout are probably all better options. Lively likely was too before he was injured. I’m sure we’ll see Dunn and or Williamson before years end.

There are probably better options sitting in the stands but they don't want the embarassment of being on this team.

I bet Dugger's neck is stretched out from watching that HR that Engelberg hit.

This rotation is going to speed up the chase for 100+ losses.
