The fact they finally went all and included batting helmets rules.
Too bad about the conspicuous Nike swoosh.

The caps are sweet.
Rangy left-hander Slim Sallee will be toeing the mound for the Queen City side.

Looks like a uniform of an ice cream salesman from the past.

That’s always a quality choice. I think it’s be cool to have 2 home jerseys. Maybe a day game night game thing. One with pinstripes that plays more to the early days color scheme with red and navy blue and a second solid white one that plays more to the 69-70 jersey you posted. The current jerseys IMO look overproduced in the fonts used and are easily dateable to the 2005-2007 time period.
For alternates I’d keep the current Red, but also do an all dark blue modern take on the 1911 jersey. That seemed to be a hit when they wore it as a throwback in 2019.
For the away, I’d do a more modern take on the 1937 Cincinnati Tigers jersey or the 1956 Mr. Redlegs jersey.
No blue. Too many MLB clubs already use the red/blue combo:
Cubs
Cardinals
Braves
Nationals
Phillies
Dodgers (if you count the red number)
Red Sox
Guardians
Twins
Rangers
Angels

What MLB needs is more green teams, I'd like to see the Rockies change over as their special uniforms this year look great. Obviously the Reds aren't a candidate.
There are varying shades of blue. The only teams that would be close to as dark as the Reds use would be the Braves, Cardinals, Twins, Guardians, and Red Sox.
Of those teams only the Cards and Red Sox use it as an accent or alternate color. The rest use it as a primary. If done correctly, such as the stripes on the 1919 themed or as a an alternate hat or as an all dark blue uniform like 1911, there would be enough differentiation to make it distinct.

I agree with that. The purple and black is a very early 90s look. I really like their dark green jersey. But green is my favorite color so I’m probably biased.
I still say no to blue. It's like we are trying to copy the Cardinals, like that weird obsessed chick who tries to copy the protagonist in a 90's suspense/thriller movie.
