    Just goes to show. You just never know from one year to the next. And every single player is a risk/gamble.
    Alexis Diaz might be awful next year. There are no guarantees on any player. The way I see it

    You wonder if Strickland would have fared as well if he was trying to protect a one-run lead in the ninth. He has not been good in that role. That said, let's get Strick a win!!!

    Not many pitches taken all night and we seed another loss. I don’t know who that is that is pitching for our guys, so I fear the worst.

    Well the bullpen pitched great. I though Thor was going to go the distance. Old school CG that was not a shut out.

    3 hit night gets him up to a .718 OpS. Well-below-average ball player……and yet, a ball player. And, our #3 hitter, at least until Moose is back.

    For an MLB player….he might be average athletically but even without great athleticism he’s solid on defense. He also needs platooned vs righties but he’s also killing righties right now.

    Good choices but the correct answer is “Bad” from Michael Jackson.

    This team has been brutal lately and losing Pham, Drury and Naquin and all 3 have been nicely productive for those better teams….while the Reds have essentially replaced those 3 with 2 automatic outs and worst contact guys anywhere and Almora/Reynolds who are functional on this team.

    Votto bats 4th every day come hell or high water ….people on here saying smart guys in front office are constructing lineup everyday…..but they live and die with Votto at 3 or whether his OPS is .579 or .719, worst baserunning player I’ve seen in a long time. Lazy with his secondary leads and bad instincts mixed with well below average speed. Defensively the guy cannot correctly stretch towards a throw to best extend himself making the bang bang plays go the other way. Often not in ready position on the pitch like every defensive player out there from 10u up. He has trouble catching ball from shoe high to mid shin high….I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in the MLB. If you don’t know who he is and he’s on any D1 college team trying out.. is he going to earn the position based on his defense only? I don’t think he is.

    Reds would never move BP down in the order and they won’t do it with Votto either.

    He’s intelligent, he’s interesting and he’s had a great offensive career….but he’s been on a free pass a crazy long time.

    @jluckhaupt

    Joey Votto has seen 4 pitches in 4 PA tonight. That would be the fewest pitches he's ever seen in a game with at least 3 PA.

    It's only the 2nd time he's had 4 one-pitch PA in a game. The other was his 3-HR game vs Philadelphia on 6/9/2015.
