Most of the songs I know from the 90’s are Raffi.

Coming from someone who was born in 82, man the 90's were wild for music. You had the grunge movement at the beginning to middle of the decade, metal became mainstream, and then TRL dominated music in the latter half of the decade. TRL went anywhere from Backstreet Boys and NSync to Korn and Limp Bizkit. While it goes somewhat unnoticed, Garth Brooks took country from some twangy genre to the beginnings of a mainstream sound. Although one could argue the merits of that, as today's mainstream country is pretty blah. That is ignoring rap, R&B, and hip hop. Dre, Snoop, and TuPac took rap mainstream and laid the groundwork for what it is today.
For me the BMG and Columbia Houses of the world made it easy to accumulate a ton of CD's quickly. Kids today won't know the joy of going to Media Play (or whatever big box store there was) and just browsing the music isles. I can remember saving up my tip money from my job and blowing it all on the latest CD's.
For the most 90's song I am going to have to go back to Smells Like Teen Spirt. It has been described as the anthem for my generation, and I can't disagree with that.

This is tough. 90s has like 3 eras between those 9-11 years and a few different genres exploded into the mainstream.
I don’t think I can choose one song. I’d have to narrow down the parameters for this one.

Love that Primitive Radio Gods track. Killer alt-rock one hit wonders defined the decade for me. With that in mind, I think these three approach the title of most 90s song.
LEN - Steal My Sunshine
New Radicals - You Only Get What You Give
Chumbawumba - Tupthumping
MTV/modern rock radio killed some of those early 90s zeitgeist tracks for me. I’d be happy to never hear or see the videos for Teen Spirit or Enter Sandman ever again.

It was originally released in 89 but did not chart until late 1990 into 91, so I will nominate Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"

I’m gonna backup M2 here. For me, the 90’s music scene was chick rock. An explosion of great female artists creating hits that are still holding up today. And they were angry, which showed up in their music. I loved it. Some of my favorites:
Alanis Morrisette
Avril Lavigne
Fiona Apple
Garbage
No Doubt
Liz Phair
Shania Twain
Sarah McLachlan
L7
Sheryl Crow
Hole
Cranberries
Veruka Salt
Pretty much a one hit wonder, but this song represents the 90’s scene for me

Kind of miss the one hit wonder. The 90s might have been the last great era for those.

Black Hole Sun — Soundgarden
The mood, the sound, the production, the aesthetics. It’s the quintessential 90’s song.
