Steer says he likes playing different positions, said he doesn't have a favorite position.

Looking at tonight's lineup all the guys #1-6 could be solid members of our 2023 position player group (I'd resign Solano). I've actually enjoyed watching the few Reds players that have stepped up their game when given an opportunity. Fraley, Friedl, Steer and Solano are all guys that have shown actual ability and I appreciate that when it could be so easy to not give a spit.

Assad's ERA = .091 sits the Reds down in order

Luckily Steer's matador defense on the shot up the middle didn't cost Minor a zero in the opening frame.

Not sure how Steer becomes a proficient fielder if he constantly changes positions.

I guess now's the time to find out how he plays at those different positions

Steer won’t get any better moving to a different position every night.

If they don’t know how he plays defense, they should have watched the minor league games.

I think it’s dumb that they use 120 baseballs a game but that ball Franmil Reyes hit definitely needs replaced because that ball was DESTROYED

A marathon runner is way more consistent if they always run on the flat in the same type weather, but they are much better and less consistent if they run in various weather and changes of elevation. Versatility is becoming much more valuable in MLB as clubs try to maximize the number of pitchers they have on the roster.

We are carrying 14 pitchers. We must have players who play more than one or two positions.

A baseball player becomes proficient at a position by playing there most of the time. Most players have a main position where they usually play. Starting caliber players, anyway.
