    Re: Most 2000s Song

Agree with many of these. I'll throw one out there that moves in a slightly different direction:

The Shins - New Slang (or the entire soundtrack from Garden State, really).

There was also the fairly shortlived British invasion wave that peaked during the middle of the decade. Ohayou mentioned Franz Ferdinand already, but other examples include Keane - Only Somewhere We Know and the Kooks - Naive. And while we've all mostly blocked them from our collective consciousnesses, it's hard to discuss 2000s music without mentioning Coldplay (at least until they decided to cease to be a rock band).

    Edit:

Wait. No. Scrap all of that. The Most 2000s song is My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade.

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

If you want to argue the 2000s should be hated with unrelenting intensity, then you've almost got to go with Nickelback.

There's certainly an argument to be made there, not that there weren't positives (as there always are.)

Where Have All the Rude Boys Gone would prob be my song of the 2000s, if I was forced to choose in 2004. Saw his anniversary show for Hearts of Oak a few years back and it was splendid (despite him being a little sick vocally).

I broke my one rule and told my wife about a thread on RedsZone (the 90s thread and this one) and she came at me quick with OMC - How Bizarre and MGMT - Kids.

The Hitler Meme video where Phish fans learn MGMT will be the album Phish covers at Halloween is epic (BTW he references 98 Thomas Mack... I was there, got married that weekend too)

I think this contest might have been over as early as September, 2000...

    That being said...

Could be this one instead, though...

"The single most important thing for a hitter is to get a good pitch to hit. A good hitter can hit a pitch that’s over the plate three times better than a great hitter with a ball in a tough spot.”

If you’re a RedsZoner in your late 30s, please be aware that Dashboard Confessional and Death Can for Cutie have both released new albums this year and they’re both pretty damn good, especially the latter.
