Another illogical point for skipping Ohtani this year though, as already mentioned above - he’ll probably be the “default” MVP candidate for most of the rest of his career, same as Trout was before him. If there’s a guy who’s plausibly better than him this year, I’m probably giving it to that guy knowing that Ohtani will be back up there again next year.
