Added talent to the overall system. It's unbalanced as hell, but it's vastly improved. With no reasonable chance to compete and win in the playoffs in 2023, even with Castillo and Mahle, this is the direction that was needed to be taken.

No mention here yet about Connor Overton. He was the first Reds pitcher to pitch 6 innings and make a quality start this season. His injury was a major disappointment but I look forward to him being a solid part if the rotation next year. If he’s still with the Reds.
29 year old rookie who had 27 solid innings. Nice for him to get some time in the sun, but I don't think it means anything for the Reds moving forward. Guys who are minor leaguers at his age are minor leaguers for a reason. I don't expect anything from him moving forward. In fact, I would not keep him on the 40 man roster over the winter. This 27 inning sample pales in comparison to his entire career to this point. Don't be fooled by small samples. The Reds did that with Art Warren this year and it bit them hard. Overton, Law, B. Farmer, Gibaut, Fernando Cruz - none of those late 20s/early 30s guys who've never established themselves as major leaguers should be kept on the 40 man roster. Fools gold!
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
A good list all around, but #1 is basically the key item. If even two of these guys show they're for real and stay healthy, that's a good sign. All 3 is huge. On the other hand, if 0 or 1 of them pan out, it is difficult to see the Reds being a playoff team in the next 3 seasons or so.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
