A big part of the equation for the Reds, of course, is whether a long-term deal with Castillo made sense at this point of their rebuild. The Reds are nearing 100 losses and it’s hard to envision a path to contention next year when the bulk of their prospect base has yet to debut.

Difficult, if not impossible, to argue with this.

But that's certainly no excuse not to add actual MLB - not AAAA fodder - players.

For better or worse, Krall needs to work unimpeded by Trust fund Phil and company this offseason.

My Aunt and Uncle owned the Burger Chef's in Chillicothe and Lancaster. Because of that I got all the toys from the Burger Chef Happy Meal - they pretty much stunk. But they made a decent burger.

On my way into the Concord, California McDonald's in August of '83, a white limousine was at it's entrance with it's back car door wide open. I glanced inside as I was going by and it was Rod Stewart. Apparently, his daughter lived there at the time.
