Another one by Alexander O'Neal. To my listening ears it don't get better when it comes to soul music
“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”
I am spinning The Thermals We Disappear, which I love unconditionally.

This guy's amazing. I first heard about him 40 years ago when someone told me they saw this "guy finger tapping on the streets of New York". Found a record of his a couple years later, and it had Eleanor Rigby on it, and I was hooked. There was no way to see videos back then, and I couldn't even imagine how he was doing that.

I'm listening to another Portland Band, "Chauncey Billups and His Excuses". It's on continuous loop.

I was visiting London in 2007 and my friend and I walked into the local bar in his neighborhood and, lo and behold, the Thermals were playing in the back room that night with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. All-time random show lineup to stumble upon in a foreign country. I dig More Parts, F’ING A, and Body the Blood etc but I lost some interest once they slowed it down and added in more clean guitars. That show was peak timing though for their discography.

I’m really digging this new song, The Way, by Manchester Orchestra. Andy Hull’s voice is sooo pure and powerful. I can’t wait to see them live at Rocks in July.

"....the two players I liked watching the most were Barry Larkin and Eric Davis. I was suitably entertained by their effortless skill that I didn't need them crashing into walls like a squirrel on a coke binge." - dsmith421
The new Wood Brothers album has some really good songs on it.
Grape works as a soda. Sort of as a gum. I wonder why it doesn't work as a pie. Grape pie? There's no grape pie. - Larry David
I knew of Celebration, Cherish, Fresh, Get Down On It... but their lesser known songs/singles are just as good if not better imo. Exploring their catalogue
Saw this bumped and thought it’d be embeds of all 11 tracks on the new National record.
The Necronomicon has been opened and the Hives have been released.

I've been listening to a lot of Mark Lanegan stuff lately. There's so much to explore, from Screaming Trees to his solo stuff to all of the many, many collaborations he did.
