It's remarkable that Marsha Hunt, of whom I just watched a 1938 movie with her and John Wayne, was only 8 years older than Robert Brown, who made his mark on "Here Come the Brides" in the late '60's.
I did not know that he had the role of Jack Lord for "Hawaii 5-0" five days before shooting the Pilot until a change-of-heart by the decision-makers. "Book 'em Dano!" would have been different.
The mistake made in HCTB was not having him marry the woman doctor whom he went down to San Francisco to get and bring back to the community. That would have changed the series to a decent drama instead of the same weekly goofball storylines that got dull fast.
He himself was a last-minute replacement for his famous Star Trek episode, "The Alternative Factor".

I really enjoyed "Here Come the Brides" as a kid, and Sony held the rights to it, not willing to release it for over three decades, until it finally last decade.
