Man that seems like a massive overpay for Bogaerts. You shouldn't have to go more than 7 or 8 years tops to sign a 30 year old SS.

With Soto estimate around 20 million that means the Padres will pay $150 million this year for: Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis, Juan Soto, Xander Bogaerts, Yu Darvish, Blake Snell, and Jon Musgrove.
Meanwhile the Reds have 0 LTCs on the books after next year, only team control and arb deals. Baseball is weird.

Those NL West California teams are just loading up on talent.
The Rockies and D-backs look like they belong in the NL Central

Outfielder Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets are in agreement on an eight-year, $162 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. 8/ 162 for a 30 year old Nimmo is crazy but good for him. FWIW he and Senzel have reached 100 games played in a season the same number of times,
“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”
